  • 10,000 years from now archeologists will uncover the fabled city of Washington, DC. What they find there will prove the truth written in the gospels of the prophet Tom Clancy.

  • ScareBear, so you are invoking Pascal’s wager? Which basically states: I best believe in God just in case he does exist so I don’t burn in hell. So you don’t really believe, you just want to hedge your bets, just in case. That’s being an intellectual coward. Besides, if we are the most intelligent life form on this planet, then we should be able to recognize that we might still be the retards of the universe compared to other intelligent life forms.

  • I love reading the posts on the Blaze that bring out the religious zealots. Nothing brings them out like homosexuality. One post indicated that he couldn’t see any connection between the fall of previous societies and the spread of homosexuality. Everyone piped up and presented the Romans, however the Romans the dominate society on earth even with rise of what is more accurately described as bisexuality. I think one could make a more distinct case that what lead to the fall of the Roman Empire was its adoption of Christianity. After all, looking back in history what has organized religion brought us, the crusades, the dark ages, the inquisition, the burning of innocent independent minded women as witches. As for Osteen, he’s in it for the money. Just like Sharpton and Jackson are race baters for the money. The bible and other such word of god writings are the products of men, not a god, they are good aids for instructing the masses on how to live as civilized communities, don’t give them any status as in-falable.

  • I’m really tired of that illogical argument. Anyone who thinks the only reason a Mexican Cartel member had a gun is because of the Fast and Furious program, well, Ron White said it best “you can’t fix stupid”. Yes, Agent Terry was shot by a drug gang member with a gun from the F&F, but if F&F never existed, that same gang member would have still been there with a gun he got from somewhere else, and Agent Terry would still have been shot. Why? Because his job put him in that dangerous position and the drug gang member would have still been there doing what he thought was his job. There is no one-to-one relationship between Agent Terry’s death and the F&F program. You just want there to be so you can blame Obummer/Holder. Yes, I believe they are both incompetent, but I would prefer to bring them down with the TRUTH.

  • There is no such thing as a “right” to your opinion. Once you make your opinion public it can then be upheld or disproved by the public. Rights imply duties on the rest of us, what duties does the right to your opinion imply? Do I have to agree? NO. Do I have to listen? NO. Do I have to change my belief system so as not to offend you? NO. The only time you have a RIGHT to your opinion is when you keep it to yourself.

  • House Passes Ryan Budget

    In reply to wesley7.

    BHELMET:
Get the terms straight! The “deficit” is the yearly amount we overspend, while the “debt” is the total national debt ($16T). I say we don’t let Congress raise the debt ceiling, the result is an instant balanced budget … if we can’t borrow … we can only spend what we take in. Simple.

  • When this was first challenged in the courts, I had a BECKian vision of the future.
The individual mandate is struck down as unconstitutional, but the rest of the law stands.
Obama and the progressive hoard use it to their advantage and say…” Well, if we can’t force you to pay for it, then the only recourse is for the Gov‘t to provide it for free to those who don’t already have health care.” Within 24 months all private health care providers are out of business since no one would pay for anything they can get for free. Shortly after that we find ourselves in a government provided single payer system, exactly where they wanted us.
I hope I don’t have to change my name to Nostradamus!

  • @ Locked
    Nice point …
“A nice argument, but it’s a logical fallacy. Saying “B uses A as its basis, thus if B is wrong, A must be wrong” is logically unsound. Atheism might use Evolution, but Evolution does not need nor prove atheism.”
    But bringing logic into a discussion of religion is a waste of effort. Most religious arguments are inductive not deductive, the ones that are presented as deductive always commit one of the logical fallacies. The most famous being;

    God created man,
    Man exists,
    Therefore God exists.

The first premise being an assumption, not a truth, making the conclusion possible but not a truth.
The fact that many people belive the premise doesn’t make it true. The more correct form for the argument would be:

    If God created man,
    and man exists,
    Then God probably exists.

From the logical perspective, that’s a pretty big IF.

  • The Global Warming Logical Argument:
P1 – The earth is 4.5 billion years old
P2 – There have been 10′s of thousands of warming-cooling cycles
P3 – 95% of the cycles occurred before man existed
P4 – 99% of the cycles occurred before the industrial age
Conclusion: This warming period is mans fault.

  • I don’t know how you all got moved from Koran burning to Muslim treatment of women. But Muslims love women, they believe every man should own at least one.
