    In reply to whatthecrazy.

You do realize they can’t take those on either, right?

  • The overwhelming majority of our law enforcement, military, and civil service members are good, decent, and heroic. Honestly? I still have faith in people in the general sense. I think most people would do something like this, and common everyday people surprise themselves and rise to the occasion all the time.

What a great story. I wish they’d report more of these.

  • So, I watch the video thinking, “Wow…God, I love my fellow Americans. That took serious skill, training, and balls.” Then…I get to the comments, and not even 5 comments in, some socialist robot is complaining about who pays for the guy’s healthcare. Seriously? What a miserable grey life you must lead if that is your first thought when you see this kind of thing.

God bless ‘em. Whatever blows your hair back.

  • Exactly. Thank you.

  • My husband looks older now than he did before his deployments, too….because he’s OLDER now. /shakes head. I get that this is supposed to be art or some kind of statement, but it’s ridiculous. After spending a year in the elements and a stressful environment, a guy is gonna have some changes. They are temporary…except for that bit about aging. We, all of us, look older than we did in March 2003.

  • The Blaze doesn’t “make it look like” the cops are the bad guys. In the last decade, cop violence has gotten out of control. It “looks like” that because it’s happening. In reality. You know…truthfully and outside the context of agenda. Sometimes, cops do bad things. As legal representatives of the state, those bad things need to be brought to the attention of the people.

Americans have enough sense to know that most cops are good. It’s okay to prosecute bad cops. Really. It is. IT’s not a vicious plot to usurp police authority. It’s a clearly-stated goal of educating the public and putting an end to bad cops.

  • You said it yourself…you give the police benefit of doubt rather than the people. I don’t give the state benefit of doubt. Ever. I give the people benefit of doubt. Innocent until proven guilty. Every time. THAT is a conservative position. Yours is just…honestly…statism of the national socialist variety.

  • Exactly. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m a small government girl. I don’t bow down to the state. I only bow before God. Since when do we on the right advocate physical violence as a natural consequence of not showing robotic obedience to the state? When the cops came to take people away in Germany, no one resisted. I’d like to believe that Americans are better than that. Apparently…some of you aren’t. Blind faith in the system is not conservative. Blind faith in the established system is communism at one end and nationalist socialism on the other. Wake up…idiots.

  • That kid in the video is a 14 year-old girl who was standing in the middle of a street the cop wanted her to vacate. I didn’t see her hit that police officer. I didn’t see her elbow that police officer. What I did see was a cop standing a good 6-10 feet away from her while she had her hands up in the air. She was not resisting. She was no longer giving him trouble. She had been totally humbled and subdued. He shot her with the taser anyway. That makes him a douche bag, and I hope it means he’s a criminal who will suffer consequences.

  • Exactly, MacPappy. Look, I’m pro-cop. I’m not a blind idiot who believes that every cop is good. There is this near-religious belief on my side of the aisle that one has to worship and regard as infallible any officer of the law. Well, I dated cops and married a Marine. I’ve learned that soldiers and cops are just people…like everyone else. Some of them are really big douche bags who don’t deserve the power and respect of their offices.
