  it could also be a series of “false alarms”..get everybody prepared and then nothing happens, do this several times and then people will start blowing it off. when its time for the doo-doo to really hit the fan, no one will pay any attention.

  i’m just outside of portland….you couldnt pay me to go anywhere near there in the upcoming months. i have also cancelled a trip i had planned with my daughters to go to dc over the summer, i dont think that there will be a major city that will be unaffected by the nonsense that is being planned.

  i am a frequent visitor at PDX and can attest to the somewhat agrresiveness of the TSA there….although i would never completely disrobe, i can appreciate the mans frustruation.

  maybe next time i fly, i will arrive wrapped in celophane…..see how that works!!!!

  my comment will likely get lost in the shuffle since everyone wants to concentrate on what bob said, instead of what they were talking about….headstart.
  it seems to me that headstart, affirmative action, skewed SAT standards, etc. should be like a slap in the face to persons of colour. our own government practices racism by continuing these programs. they, in affect are saying that just because your skin is not white you are unable to prepare your child for school, that you cannot compete in the job market or higher education.
  we have not “freed” anyone, they have just become slaves of the government. these programs are expensive and do little good for anyone and its time they stop.
  if a person wants to achieve something in their lives, all they need is the desire to do it.

  …..ann romney hasnt worked a day in her life!!!!!! OMG..i am a stay at home mom and if anybody claims that that is not work, they need to have their head examined!!..i manage the lives of 5 people, the hats i wear include, but are not limitted to: social secretary, teacher, councilor, budget planner, personal shopper, dietary consultant, housekeeper, spiritual guidance, doctor, nurse, wife, gardener…..the list goes on!!!!!….if i am lucky, i might have time at the end of the day to take a bath and shave my legs!!!!!!!!!
  i am a firm believer that if more women stayed home, that our kids would grow up a little more stable and prepared to enter the world on their own!!!…i will step down off the soap bx now!!

  i am in the portland area (but not for long!). sadly, this kind of mentality is in the elementary schools as well…town hall meetings, silent applause (you will recognise this from occupy meetings), food police and everything done for the collective good. its very strange and i spend alot of time undoing what my kids have learned in school…..for this fact alone i am moving.
  cant wait to get back to where the bluegrass grows!!!
