  • THis and high interest rates were all that separated Obama from Carter. Now he has his emerging Iran. If the Fed stops artificially keeping the interest rates down, Obama really will be Carter2.0. Any American hostages in Egypt yet?

  • What I want to know is if the couple didn’t know her, it probably means she is not a neighbor, how did she get there? If she is so drunk that she doesn’t know what house she is in, did she drive there? I say throw the book at her, before she kills someone

  • JROOK you are obviously not too bright.
It is not illegal to follow someone (and a 911 dispatcher is a glorified secretary so they have no authority). It is not known if Zimmerman touched Martin. He says he didn’t and no evidence has come forward to prove that he did. In America you are inocent until PROVEN guilty. I know you commies would like to change that. You were not there, no one knows who made physical contact. The person who made PHYSICAL contact is the one who broke the law. ANd if Martin made PHYSICAL contact with Zimmerman (I don’t care what he was doing or even if he called his momma a name), than under the law Zimmerman is justified in using whatever force he needs to, to defend his person from an assult. Quit trying to spin that case into something it isn’t

  • Remember acid rain? How about in the 70′s it was CO2 was causing the next ice age? The hole in the ozone? Killer bees? Aids? The overpopulation problem? Have these people ever been right?

  • While you are somewhat right about the condition of people, you also have to consider time and place. Big city late at night, nobody out but the riff raff. All the decent people are at home in bed because they have to work in the morning.

  • @ Charles116
Once upon a time there was nothing, then nothing happened, and no one caused it. Then there was everything. And you mock my beliefs.

  • There are other legal issues here. For instance if you say that a man marrying a man is the legal equivalent of a man marrying a woman, than you are saying in the eyes of the law there is no difference between a man and a woman. Opens up all kinds of other questions. Should women be drafted, should men be allowed to work at Hooters? If men and women are legally the same…see where this is going. Then add in anti-discrimination laws, what about churches who refuse to honor these unions because of their beliefs. What about adoption? Should a gay couple be considered equal to a husband and wife (even though all studies show that children raised with a mother and a father turn out better). This is bigger than two folks that want to be together. If gays want to get married no one is stopping them, what we are arguing is under the law is gay marriage the legal equal to regular marriage. And that effects everyone!

  • @ Cand…
Thank you! Another good parent, gives me hope. I get so sick of the “well you just can’t control your kids” comments. My 4 year old can get in and out of her safety seat, however, she recently lost the privilege of doing so because she disobeyed my instructions about removing her belt when the vehicle is not stopped and turned off. She simply is not allowed to buckle or unbuckle herself anymore because she was not morally mature enough to follow the rules. I use this principle on everything, if my child is physically capable of doing something does not mean they are morally capable of doing it. I also use the “STOP” command in a certain tone of voice only for emergencies and my kids know that this means business. I have never had them disobey this command. People need to start parenting again.

  • I’m with you.

  • Communist – LOL. I am actually very libertarian when it comes to adults. I do not care what you do with your life (just don’t ask me to pick up the tab for your stupidity). But when it comes to the helpless (disabled, elderly, children) I do believe we need laws to protect them from abuse and neglect. I am sick and tired of turning on the news and reading about dead babies because an adult cannot be bothered to take basic safety precautions. Just recently two toddlers were killed because they were loose in the backseat of the car. The parents survived because ironically they were wearing seat belts, but they set the children in their carseats and just couldn’t be bothered to take 2 minutes to fasten the harness. It is also a pet pieve of mine that parents do not raise their children with any kind of disipline anymore. I do have older, obedient, children. I was making the point that even my 2 year old knows to stop when mom says stop. I do not have to chase my children in stores or from running into the street. Mom or Dad says something you do it, period. I have seen more than one dangerous situation get worse because small children have no respect for what their parents say. This is the point I was trying to make. It is kind of a soap box for me right now because I am just fed up with parents who can’t be bothered to raise their children and then enflict them on society when they turn 18 or sooner.
