  • The Coptic (Orthodox) Christians have been persecuted in Egypt for years, this is nothing new – just more widely disseminated (thank you Blaze.com). Only the U.S. seems to see religion and world issues though a haze of political correctness; go to the actual countries and you’ll find rampant sexism, racism, intolerance and rude attitudes to anyone who is different. This goes for all religions/races/etc. Our country just has a habit of trying to put everything in a box, label it, and put it on the shelf, never to change. It is a rather odd behavior.

  • The bigger question is: Why is there even such a thing as “Non-essential” personnel? I’d say can them all, but since most of them likely have no marketable skills, nor entrepreneurial motivation, coupled with the fact that a lot are anti-business socialists, there is really no place for them to go.

Our country will probably have to burn to the ground before the makers & producers can actually fix all this, sadly.

  • You’re either the person running this site, or have your priorities quite mixed up, Bobblazereader.

Don’t let the posting of a story get you down, life is full – be ready for all of it.

  • Translated to “Common Sense” this (and many other “studies”) can be read thusly:
“New way found to sponge public research money from the Nanny State”

Sadly, much like the global warming / cooling / climate change / whatever it is today, this is just throwing some meat to their masters in the hopes that the crumbs from the table are large and succulent.

I no longer trust surveys, studies, nor much in the scientific community anymore. I approach any kind of statistics or mathematical models as “they are wrong until proven right” – poor me.

  • “It also forces state workers to make benefit concessions that amount to an 8 percent pay cut on average.”

Forces them to take 8% of their pay and pay their own benefits? How HORRID! To think, those living off the fat of the private sector have been enjoying all their benefits being covered and all their guaranteed pensions, COLA adjustments every year, etc… oh wait.

  • Most in congress still won‘t know what’s in the Constitution, because the only way to find out what is in something is for them to pass it! Nancy even said so herself! So reading it is not enough. We should pass the Constitution bill… get another 1,994 pages of filler and we’ll be off and running! (for the hills)

I don’t mind if someone is openly liberal or progressive, per se, it is just when it is “hidden” or thought of as “middle of the road” or somehow mainstream. If you’re left, you’re left. If you’re right, you’re right. While I don’t agree with much of anything with progressives, several on the left are fully capable of making sound arguments for certain things.

It would be a nice breath of fresh air for Fox News is they have a couple left Op-Ed shows to counter Hanity, Beck, et.al. Not that they’d get as much ratings, who knows, but I would love to see Alan Colmes or Juan Williams get an Op-Ed show just for perspective.

  • All of your intr0nets are belonging to us!

  • Sorry, Tom is from Oklahoma, not Colorado…

  • Yeah, that’s Tom Coburn of Colorado – NOT John Cornyn of Texas. Even the chyron graphics spell it out. Yikes.
