  • I don’t know much about Scarborough. There certainly may be some hidden agenda here. But, as a conservative woman who is very active in my local Tea Party, I have to say that I agree with some of what Scarborough said. I think Palin can be a very positive force in the Republican Party. But I seriously believe that both her decision to step down from her elected role as governor and her decision to have a reality TV show will come back to haunt her if she runs for President. Giving speeches and supporting candidates is one thing; running for the highest office in the country is another. It seems like she’s just been campaigning for President ever since she left office in Alaska.

Will she decide part-way through a Presidency that she can better serve the country in some other way, and then quit that too?

I will be researching if Palin really said these comments about Reagan and Bush, or if they were taken out of context.

I urge everyone to please not follow anyone blindly. It seems like that’s what many people do with Palin, among others.

  • Of course, I may be completely wrong, but watching the video, I don’t think he was even reading a teleprompter. He barely looked like he had his eyes open. I think he was reciting that from memory, which makes it even more concerning to me.

  • Why is it that none of Danglingbags’ posts can be reported? He replies to the first comment of almost every controversial news story, always in all caps and always spewing hatred about Tea Parties. He always ends with the same stupid line about buying gold. On this story, he has 3 posts on the first page, one of which is a reply. NONE of them can be reported, but I can report all the others.

  • Danglingbags, when you stop putting everything you say in all caps and ending every post with the same line, you may have a chance to contribute to a real discussion. Until then, you just add to the list of people with liberal political beliefs who just yell the same things over and over again and insult people who disagree with you. Remember that the things you say and do reflect on the whole group of people you say you belong to. You may have anonymity on the Internet, but you still influence how people see you and others who think like you.

  • Responding to Rush above:
“Your fact about muslims is wrong. It’s arabs who think dogs are for hunting and guarding. Doesn’t mean they don’t like them.”
—> You’re correct about it being Arabs not Muslims. However, I have witnessed an Arab’s reaction to a dog. We were at a social gathering, and he most definitely did not like the dog. He seemed offended any time the dog came near him. He explained that they are simply considered unclean.

“He’s obviously not a muslim, despite you guys repeating it over and over like a broken record.”
—> I’m sorry, but the jury’s still out on this one. If he is a Christian, he has many beliefs that most Christians do not. The label on his religion really doesn’t matter, it’s what he believes that does.

“He’s the president. he won. you are such sore losers. why don’t you grow an actual republican who’s worth something and challenge Obama.
You know your party sucks when even a minority candidate with an arabic name, and a foreign father, won against your leaders. You don’t even know what to throw at him to knock him down: socialist, nazi, muslim, liberation theologist, ape, communist, marxist, liberal, leftist, terrorist and finally racist. Did I leave any?
Well your makes sense, american, patriotic, wonderful party LOST to all those labels. What a mess. Can you recover? and with who?”
—> Sadly, you are correct, except that the problem is not with any one party. There are progressives who have a different view of this country than a large majority of its citizens, and they are in every party. Thankfully, America, myself included, is waking up to this.

Labels being thrown around do not help anyone. Anyone can claim to be a part of any label. The person’s actions and words are what matter.

  • My question for those supporting this church’s planned actions are this: What positive result do you expect to come of this? And how are these actions Christ-like? When a U.S. general has gotten involved and presented a logical reason for not doing something like this, the American people should sit up and take notice, not respond with, “We must send a clear message to the radical element of Islam. We will no longer be controlled and dominated by their fears and threats.” This sends no clear message at all, except one of hatred. You do not turn people away from hatred by showing hatred toward them. I pray this church seeks God’s guidance and changes their mind.
