  • Unfortunately, stories like this tend to make one feel that the world is a totally sick place and that the barbarians are winning. It’s worth noting that there are many examples of good Samaritans out there (look up Victor Perez, Hasan Askari, Julien Duret, Wesley Autrey, Horia Cretan, Bennie Newton, or Ryan Young).

  • @SQUIDVETOHIO

While I don‘t agree with O’Reilly on every point, I am nonetheless sick of the idea that in order to be a “true conservative” one must think a certain way on topics A, B, C, and D. I just got done arguing with a liberal that being a conservative didn’t mean a zombie-like adherence to a set of monolithic stereotypes, and here you go trying to prove me wrong.

  • @JZS

You stated, “I guess she’s learning how that teen who got the 10 Commandments removed from her school [felt], with the death threats and all. You know, the girl this website likes to show every so often so you can post hateful things about her?”

At first I thought, JZS does have a point. So I looked up the last article on Jessica Ahlquist and perused the comments. There were 777 so I limited it to just around the first 200 (for time’s sake) and found only a few using any rude or objectionable language (I counted three, but I may have missed something buried within a long passage). There were actually quite a few defending Ahlquist.

I am not so naive that I don’t believe some Blaze commentors made crude remarks about her (I have been alarmed at some of the posts I have seen here from time to time) but I was relieved to find that I didn’t find the venom and hatred that you described (and that I thought might exist).

I think you might be guilty of stereotyping Blaze commentors. In another of your posts on ‘THIS IS FOR YOU, WHITE B–CH’: WOMAN ALLEGEDLY ATTACKED WHILE ORDERING LUNCH AT COLO. MCDONALD’S, you say, “This website selectively picks out stories of scary black people behaving badly.” Yet just the other day I read an article SAFEWAY EMPLOYEE’S SUSPENSION FOR DEFENDING PREGNANT WOMAN DRAWS NATIONWIDE PROTESTS where the hero of the story is, in your words, a “scary black man.” This would seem to contradict your assertion.

  • At the risk of evoking Godwin’s law, Nazi science produced studies proving the superiority of the Aryan race.

Seems the current administration is following well trodden steps in history.

  • I don’t know, TIGRESS1.

I understand that the Romney campaign wants to focus on the important issues and not sink to underhanded methods, but by the same token, I don‘t think Romney is going to come off well if he doesn’t fight with a little more vigor. Consider the Rev Wright issue. It’s been declared off the table because it was out there last election cycle. But it was pretty much ignored by the MSM last election cycle – they willingly carried the water for the President. We’ve now had a term of Obama to see how he plays the race card and how he embodies radical social views (i.e. the teachings of Wright and Ayers, and others). Not only should these points be on the table; they now exist in a context of how the President’s policies have been shaped by these issues.

Maybe you need to “watch” more closely:

“Breeders are pleased with the catch, as it is a female with about 1.2 million eggs that will be harvested and artificially fertilized with the hope of adding some to the dwindling population.”

  • @JOE1123

You wrote “Rove is NOT wrong. You want to GUARANTEE ROMNEY’S DEFEAT then do stupid things like that, question where he was born and all that kind of BS. Obama is a terrible president, has a pathetic record, and that alone is enough to give Romney a LANDSLIDE victory. Romney isn’t McCain … but he’s not stupid either.”

I understand the virtue of taking the high road, but I also remember a lot of people finally starting to question Obama’s credulity back when the Wright stuff first came to light.
Obama enjoyed virtual anonymity last election cycle. Even the New York Times has recently criticized the media’s failure to vet Obama (”A Hard Look at the President,” Arthur S. Brisbane, 4/21/2012). I agree that Romney should focus on real issues, but given the President’s penchant for playing the race card (Henry Louis Gates, “African Americans for Obama”, Trayvon Martin, etc), I‘m not so sure Wright’s inflammatory speech doesn‘t qualify as a real issue in that it seems to have played a role in forming Obama’s character.

  • Meanwhile … the boy who was the topic of the original story has died as a result of his injuries.

  • The photos themselves are quite funny, but dear God, the photographer is one cheesy looking character!

  • I’m willing to bet her chauffeur appreciated her traveling in a dog crate. It was probably the first time he was able to drive around without having to put up with her annoying prattle.

In her case, as far a dog crate goes, if the show fits …
