  I‘m one of the lucky ones who have had an entirely Democratic family finally open their eyes to what I’ve been telling them was coming. For those just reaching that conclusion and not knowing where or what to do, may I recommend a series of books? Go to amazon.com and search for “foxfire books.” It’s a series of books written to preserve the heritage of Appalachian life, including instructions from building shelter, farming, canning, hunting, tracking, foraging, making whiskey and gunpowder, etc. the way it was done a hundred years ago. Additionally, they also include religion, traditions, folklore, etc. There are 12 books in the set, each about 300 pages and about $13. A very wise investment.

  There is still hope in this world. If you need someone to inspire you? I was photographing a middle-school cross-country track meet in WV recently. Part of the course had the students crossing a stream with a depth of 3 1/2 to 4′ deep in the middle. One student made it to the middle, became unsure and turned back, then tried again, and again, each time losing her nerve before she could reach the other bank. Suddenly, a competitor stopped, grabbed her by the arm and helped her cross the stream. It is true that sometimes it’s not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.

  This is a ridiculous application of police power. Not only is it unconstitutional, all the fines will be thrown out in court, the media blitz will descend upon Seattle and this will now represent the national appearance of police brutality on it’s citizenry. This HAS TO BE a setup.

  That last reason to have cable over netflix just evaporated into the ether. So long ESPN, Football and my $250/month cable bill for every channel, 6 boxes, 2 DVRs and high speed internet…hello Netflix and…well…perhaps I’ll keep the internet.

  This quote illustrates Ms. Mehta inability to grasp reality. She accuses Christians of trying to force their views upon everyone else by forcing them to say the words. Athiests, ironically, are trying to force their views upon everyone else by preventing them from saying their words. Projectionism in it’s finest.

  Has everyone forgotten that it is the “innocent” residents of this town that placed these people in power who have made such a blind decision based upon their own political ideology. Much in the way we all are responsible for the government we have allowed to be created around us, let those commissioners be held responsible for their decisions and let the public see the unadultorated application of their own political ideology.
