  I understand why a business needs to stand by their policy, however I can’t tell from the story if the manager ever addressed their issue about the poor service! To me THAT should be the manager’s foremost concern.

  If this is a constant habit of customers to try to duck out of the 17% then I’d see their steadfastness. But from retail & restaurant experience I know that exceptions are made to satisfy people that DID actually receive some poor service.

  I know that’s not all from a tanning bed, looks like she applied an “Ultra Dark Self Tanning Lotion”, which is different from a self-tanner, it comes out of the bottle like liquid brown make-up. I’ve used it before and a touch will accentuate a tan but slathering it on gives you this effect.

  She probably uses all of the lotions as well but those dark mousses can really darken you in this chocolately way!

  I‘m sorry I didn’t hear about it earlier because I’m a big Burton/Depp fan and it looks COOL…! Also cool was little actor Deep Roy as an Oompa-Loopma! Great party.

  Not to be silly, but as a kid I watched “The Ten Commandments” long before anything like “Gone With the Wind”, so my first young impression of slaves were the Hebrew slaves! So it tends to stick in my mind as an Egyptian term. Just shows we all grow up with a different perspective until we (and if we) study history more closely. :)

  We’re never asked for any ID to vote in OK, it’s nuts. I just walk up, tell them my name and they flip open a big book and have me sign it and give me a ballot. There are pages of empty lines where no voter ever comes in, the system is just asking to be abused. I’d be more than willing to show them some ID. They don’t even ask for the little voter card they sent me in the mail!

  Wow, nothing to do with race, (as slavery throughout the centuries isn’t exclusively “black”), but I’m white and horribly offended at this. And astonished at the stupidity of whoever approved this before it went to print, and didn’t pause and ask someone, “Hey, maybe this isn’t the best way to word this?”
