  • Yeah, having new immigrants take a driver’s test in a language they understand is a really bad idea. I mean, I don’t want them understanding the traffic laws If they can get safely to and from work, they might become productive members of our society! Who would want that???

Umm…Treason is a pretty strong word for trying to improve the quality of the judges in this country. By the way, you should all remember that a large majority of the federal judges you demonize so much were appointed by Republican presidents.

  • No, the time to deal is BEFORE you are convicted. The prosecution got their man, and they got a conviction. What incentive do they have to make any sort of deal with him now?

  • @Tom

You are right, two wrongs do not make a right. However, I never claimed MediaMatters did anything wrong. For that, matter, there is nothing wrong with Newsbusters either. Both are 501(c)(3)’s and both are following the law. Please, please, please, provide a link to the portion of MediaMatter’s website that names the candidates and the party that MediaMatters supports. I’ll be waiting.

  • You do realize that Newsbusters is the EXACT SAME THING as MediaMatters, right? How is it that there is outrage over the tax exempt status of MediaMatters, but not a word about Newsbusters?

  • You, then, have a very faulty memory.

  • Why would Fox News viewers accept this change? Aren’t all CNN reporters marxist-communist-liberal-progressive America-haters? That‘s what I’ve been told by Fox News viewers…

  • I am sorry, Viet Vet, but I cannot possibly have understood you right. Surely, you are not suggesting that killing INNOCENT people is ok as long as we kill the guilty ones as well. Even convicting, but especially killing, an innocent person is one of the most horrible things a government can do. Sure, it happens, but if we are going to have the death penalty, then shouldn’t we do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to make sure we are not taking the life of an INNOCENT person?

As a Catholic, I am entirely opposed to the death penalty in any form. For me, it is enough to remove dangerous criminals from society by placing them in prison, which, as it turns out, is also much cheaper than killing them.

  • Reread the story. The plaintiff in the lawsuit was NOT a convicted criminal. The plaintiff was a “pretrial detainee” which means when the incredibly invasive search took place, they had not been found guilty of anything.

And stop comparing this to the TSA everyone. I’ve read cases like this in the past. The procedures at an airport pale in comparison to the procedures in a jail.

You people make me sick. The President has more important things to worry about that “Celebrity Apprentice”–as he demonstrated tonight.
