  • @AOL_Refugee

Many atheists dislike organized religion because of the tax free status and the way many pastors and preachers abuse the power and money that come with it.

I guess this author may as well get his.

  • Agreed. I don’t understand why the sex part is even remotely offensive. What do you think Adam and Eve were doing? They had unlimited food, a beautiful garden, and they were naked.

Jack Nicholson said it best, “If you cut off a breast, it’s PG-13, if you show a breast it’s rated R.”

  • I was born in Orlando. This sucks so much. How can we name a highway for a Nobel Peace Prize winner who assassinates U.S. Citizens? How can we name a highway for a President who is dismantling NASA and thereby wrecking the Titusville/Space Coast economy?

If you have to name it after a racially divisive Muslim, then call it the Malcolm Xpressway. At least Malcolm X turned his life around in jail.

  • @Vapor Trail
You can live by the laws of nature or by the grace of God. Your choice.

  • And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.*

  • The solution to same sex marriage is simple.

The term “marriage” as written in laws, needs to be replaced with “civil union.” This should apply to both same sex and male-female marriages.

The purpose of marriage laws is to give tax status, ensure hospital visitation, 50% division of income made during a marriage, etc…..

The BLESSING and SANCTITY of marriage is given by God, therefore it needs no recognition by man made laws, such as the Constitution……All are equal under the law, so the term “civil union” would be much more accurate. This would also allow religious organizations more liberty to bestow the blessing of marriage as they see fit.

That’s what the United States is built on, equality under the law. It is also built on freedom of religion. If the gay community would like to term their partnerships as marriage, they can seek a religious organization that will do so. They should be afforded all rights given by the laws of the United States, but to receive the blessing of marriage, a gay couple would have to find an organization that would do as such.

God does not need the Constitution to uphold the sanctity of marriage.

    1 Samuel 8:5,7
And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should

  • The quote is actually:
“Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son.”

Yes, you paraphrased, but can’t be butchering quotes from arguably one of the greatest films ever created.
Now TruthTalkers R.E.M. reference, that’s a little different.

  • Hahaha, gotta say I like this guy. At least he called both white and black people lazy. Now granted, it’s a stereotype, but nonetheless equally applied.

I’ve worked for a woman who emigrated from Honduras and is doing quite well, two of her children are on their way to higher education, she went through the legal tangle. But she helped someone who was having citizenship issues and I remember her telling me that she always liked him because he enjoyed working hard. Often times, they would finish their days early. She worked hard too, never ever slow about anything.

But the Senator is not completely incorrect in his statement. My uncle used to run an orange grove in Florida and needed labor. There were plenty of black American men whom he would have hired, but they didn’t want to do the work. So is my uncle supposed to let his business fold? Nah, he went and got some Mexicans to help him, because they would do the work.

If citizens don’t want these people coming here illegally looking for work, we have to be willing as a country to do the work ourselves. The welfare state doesn‘t help that’s for sure. Not trying to pass judgement (except on the welfare state) or reinforce stereotypes, just sharing my experiences.

  • He’s even posing with a telescope, OOPS!

  • Ever hear the word “niggard” or “niggardley? You can find it in the Koran.

These words are in reference to a person who takes and takes, but does not give, does not carry their own weight, thereby dragging others down (kinda like the fat guy in the U.K. on the site, funny he’s white but a niggard no less.)

The N-word in America is a phrase based to the slave trade. Many slaves at the time were captured from areas around the Niger River, easy to see the pronounciation.

Therein lies the issue with it. I don’t see an issue with the black community using it, it’s their word. But it‘s really lame that I can’t use it, especially as a term of friendship and endearment towards good friends of mine who also happen to be black, (again its used like this in the black community, both as a term of endearment and in not so friendly situations.) So it’s really the spirit of the word that is important, not the phrase itself.

What really gets me most upset is the Hispanic community uses it and that is generally accepted, but as a white, I cannot use it. I’m fine with being called honkey if I can use the N word. If my friend wants to call me honkey, he’s my friend, I wouldn’t hang out with him if he used the phrase in a derogatory manner.

As a Christian, all the skin color BS is smoke and mirrors, I worry about the Spirit. Unfortunately, some don’t see it that way, and I do not wish to be misunderstood.
