‘The Potential to Wreak Havoc’: Critics Respond to Pastor Mark Driscoll’s Book About Sex & Marriage
January 7, 2012 at 1:28pm
I agree with Lois Lane here. I go to a large church, not a “mega church” though.
The Bible does not say anything about how big or small a church congregation should be. Aren’t we all the body of Christ and the entire (world-wide) church his bridesmaid?
So, “the church” is really, really, huge!
The mega churches do typically have more funding, so yes, they are able to give more to those in need, which is excellent (not that smaller churches give any less, but it’s usually more time than $).
A good, Christian book is meant to “rock the boat” so to speak, just as Jesus did everywhere he went. It’s usually a good sign, too, when the author(s) are willing to express their own failures so we can all learn from them :)

Amen! During nursing school, the professor asked what a fetus is. I raised my hand and said “a baby.“ She looked at me and I could see her thinking ”o no, I got one of THOSE in my class.” Killing these babies hurts the baby (obviously) but you’re right- it also hurts the mother. And I’d argue the men and the entire family ideology as a whole also.
And yes- ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD- and He’s made His decision on this issue very clear.

1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything.
This doesn’t exactly fit, because it’s a message for Christians, but it does make a great point- Just because it‘s legal doesn’t mean it’s good, or helpful. And yes, you can be enslaved by this sort of garbage people practically give their lives to.

Sensitivity Training? Female U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan ‘Encouraged’ to Wear Hijab
April 2, 2011 at 10:51am
you are correct. apparently it’s disgraceful for a male muslim to not at least have a handful of beard, so that would be the next step. And pretty soon we’ll only send our Japanese American soldiers to Japan to give them aid, etc. WE’RE AMERICANS AND WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF IT!!!

i think it would be harder to see the enemy with a scarf covering your peripheral vision. Safety first! And yes, it’s ridiculous! They know those women aren‘t muslim’s even if they are wearing headscarfs!
