  There was a news story several years ago about Starbucks being purchased by an Islamic investment bank. The item was about the challenges the bank was having trying to find companies that didn’t conflict with the dictates of sharia law. The article said the bank settled on Starbucks and Leohmans (now defunct, I think).

  So there you go. Who does Howard work for? His American stockholders, or his Islamic bosses?
