  • No one is saying breastfeeding is evil or sick. Surely, everyone respects that it is a completely natural process.

The point is this: The photo was staged to shock, and it does. Whatever validity the age debate may have had is destroyed by the provocative, unnatural, “in your face” nature of the photo.

As far as women being “forced” to go into bathrooms, did it ever occur to you that the vast majority of women do not want to whip out a tit in public? Perhaps they enjoy the modesty, privacy and intimacy of removing themselves from public view while breastfeeding. If not, that’s their choice. But why would we ever force women to breastfeed IN public? Your point is completely misguided and wrongheaded.

  • Do you have any concept of how nursing works? Her “mammaries” will continue to produce milk as long as she allows her sone to breastfeed.

Dairy cows, for example, can produce milk indefinitely by virtue of the fact that they continue to be milked.

  • This is yet another case of a self-serving liberal trying to destroy social constructs that work, and have worked quite well for hundreds if not thousands of years.

And trust me; she’s a Lib. No conservative would ever allow herself or her child to be exploited like this. The photo is meant for pure shock value. The mother is using her child OWS-style to make a point about how SHE (and some pointy-headed “doctor”) thinks kids should be raised.

Finally, I don’t care what anyone says: This child is way too old to be breast-feeding! Ask yourself, does this image pass the “ick” factor, or does it make you uncomfortable? Trust your gut folks; this woman is a freak.

  • Dang!

    Talk about an ugly bunch!

These guys couldn’t get laid at a college freshman mixer with a pound of weed, a keg of beer and a case of condoms.

  • You’re ignoring a number of glaring double standards.

If the headline was, “Jewish girls hold separate prom,” the ACLU would have sued to prevent it from happening. Keep in mind this IS a public school. I checked.

Next, there is the issue of prayers held in a public school. Again, substitute ANY other religion and the Left would have sued. Imagine a “Christian girls prom,” complete with prayers in the gymnasium.

And what about excluding a particular gender from an event held at a public school, merely in an effort to accommodate the cultural sensibilities of a religious group? Can you say, “Separate but equal?”

I think this event violated the Constitution’s equal protection clause, even if it was held with privately raised funds. Substitute “black” for “boys.“ ”No B—- were allowed” Would ANY court allow a group of students to be excluded because of race or religion? Of course not! So why would a school allow a gender-specific event to be held?

I’ll tell you why: Because they are bowing down to Islam. Nobody wants to say no to the Muslims.

This is a glaring example of creeping Sharia. If you read the NYT article it talks about all kinds of hyphenated-Americans from all over the globe. Make no mistake: These Muslim immigrants have no interest whatsoever in being Americans. They want to be Muslims in America. Huge distinction.

The school’s position should have been this: “The prom is on this date. Come or don’t come. Your choice.”

  • @ReddirtTexas:

It’s a public school. Check out the home page:

  • Obama and his minions have zero respect for the flag in real life, so why would anyone expect this cadre of commies to know anything about flag protocol?

  • College is a waste of time and money ONLY if you make it so.

If you’re friend never progressed beyond her original position, she has only herself to blame. That may sound cruel, but people’s biggest barriers often are themselves.

  • Neocon1′s words may be crude, but I was thinking similar thoughts with regard to the despair some of these former players must feel.

It is true that they have been elevated, treated extraordinarily most of their lives because of their athletic abilities and then, unfortunately for some, when it is over they are lost.

For as long as they can remember, they have been the athlete; it is their identity, and when that’s gone, some obviously have no sense of who they really are — or could become — and then lose their sense of self-worth. Very tragic. The major league sports should work to help these men find Life After Sports. It seems, of late, that NFL players especially could benefit from this type of intervention.

Very tragic. I hope Seau has found peace. While I do believe suicide goes against God, I heard of a pastor who said suicide is a form/symptom of disease and that God cures diseases when we die.

  • It is telling to read the thoughtful, loving comments here vs. the snarky, condescending comments on the WaPo site.

Just who are the hateful ones?

Kudos to Mr. Will and his family for loving Jon as they do, and never once questioning his worth as a human being.
