  • I very much doubt Gandhi is burning in hell, just as I very much doubt any of us could really say who is and isn’t. We may have suspicions (as I suspect the likes of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao will end up there) but that’s all we have. I would think a man claiming to be a Christian who goes about being a liar and a thief has more chance of burning in hell than a non-Christian who went about preaching peace and trying to be his best self.

I think we should spend our time worrying more about where we are on our paths to salvation than proclaiming whom we think is and isn’t burning in hell. Besides, I would hesitate to proclaim with any kind of authority about anyone’s eternal destination. Suspect, sure, but I leave the actual judging up to God.

  • Here’s some honest questions:
    1. Can you define what “freedom of religion” means in your mind? Can you then also define “freedom of speech?”
    2. In your ideal of America, what would be the proper balance of Church and State?
    3. Do you see non-belief or secularism becoming the state-sponsored belief system (aka religion)? If that happened is it a problem? Why or why not?
    4. Do you feel personally threatened in your beliefs seeing religious symbols on public property?
    5. Many would claim that removing any sort of religious symbols or reference from public/government property and affairs is the state sponsoring secularism–or preference of one belief over another. How would you respond to that?
    6. Do you believe it’s wrong for an individual to force his beliefs on another person? Some feel secularism is being forced on them by the State. What would you say to them?
    7. What is your ultimate goal in supporting groups like FFRF?
    8. Would you say you hope to enlighten the American population and help them evolve past a belief in God? If so, why?

  • Never was there a better example of a complete liberal tool than Harrison Schultz. Huh? What? I don’t know where my student loan comes from (doesn’t Obama have a stash somewhere?). Huh? What? I don’t understand what you mean that somebody has to pay for my housing/medical/car/etc., I already told you it “should” be free. I mean, if it’s free, then nobody has to pay for it. Duh.

I‘m surprised Hannity didn’t repeatedly bash his head against his desk. Is he referring to companies like Facebook that give their “stuff” away for “free” and are very successful? Darling, Facebook is charging for their product. What you haven’t realized is YOU are their product, and the real consumer is the advertisers and game makers. YouTube, Hulu, even TV all work nearly the same way (one reason I like Netflix).

Sorry to be harsh, but I don‘t think a rational thought has crossed this unfortunate member of my generation’s mind during his entire life. Glad I escaped that kind of severe indoctrination. Yeesh, it’s hard to believe people that illogical can truly exist.

  • Marine1 and Icnivad, you’re borderline biggots. This is a real problem and you may want to shut your eyes to it because it hasn’t affected you (or maybe it has and that’s why you have issues with it), doesn‘t mean it isn’t a real problem. One of the first things we do to overcome a sin is to confess it. When I attended BYU I knew several individuals who were struggling with this problem and a video like this would have meant the world to them. It’s not condoning homosexuality, it’s condoning understanding. You can proclaim yourself gay and be a good Latter-day Saint (Mormon) at the same time. If you don’t believe me, then why is the LDS Church allowing self-proclaimed gay man to be a bishop of a ward in San Francisco?

I don’t condone homosexuality, but I don’t condemn people for having feelings. It’s our actions that define us. If you condemn others for having wrong feelings, then what’s to stop God from condemning you for your wrong feelings of jealousy, hate, pride, etc.? It’s time to deal with reality.

  • Who Is Wall Street Supporting in 2012?

    In reply to bedspirit.

It‘s like we’re watching Atlas Shrugged literally unfold before our eyes. Unfortunately I don’t think there will be John Galt to save us…

  • I agree that bullying should stop, but censoring freedom of speech is not the way to do it. Education, not legislation. Come on AZ, you understand some freedoms so well! Freedom of speech means freedom to say good as well as bad.

  • Ha! I love that phrasing “so open-minded your brains fall out.” Thanks for posting it!

  • I sincerely hope more men like him find courage to speak up.

  • What is wrong with the world? Seriously, this is sick! If you don’t want the baby, give it up for adoption, there are plenty of couples desperately waiting for a baby. You can call it whatever you want, but murder is murder. If we let this become the norm, we deserve destruction.

It is their sight actually, though it may not be their site. :P
