  MARATHONMARK, you are 100% correct…balance is key.I started running 10 miles a day, 6 days aweek before I was in High School.
  This ,along with winter& summer competition swimteam. And , of course, biking to and from everything on a Swinn Varsity modified with Fat tires and minibike shocks up front.10, 20, 30 mile trip…typical. ( This was in 79, in Jersey, who said mountain biking started in CA.?)

  I met Jim Fixx when I was 12 at a race with my oldest sister, who was a college runner at the time.
  At 45, I still have major problems with my knees & ankles, however I still push some running along with my cross training……..carpal tunnel is now messing with mountain biking……yes,……..less is MORE

  this is South County, RI.
  Old School housing.I did a lot of restoration work in that area. Especialy near Roger William’s Park, Providence.
  90% of the old Victorian Houses still have gas lines in for lighting and the old paper wraped wiring w/ two button switches to replace the gas.

  When I voted here, I had to show 2 photo ID’s AND proof of residency.

  I had recently moved 20 minutes away, just over the county line, and I wasn’t in “The Book”.

  Registered voter for 12yrs. in this State of PA, with my Current voter ID card, and I still went throught all This?
  That’s right, it was only a Primary vote and I was a registered Rebublican.( Changed from Independent so I had a vote)

  ……oh wait, that’s right… The TEA Party is another terrorist group….gotta keep ‘em out…….

  BTW.I do live on a farm, work the land, forage in the abundent local nature,have access to fresh chicken eggs.etc.But I pay each month to be here, +I don’t have a web site asking for donations.

  This is a free country, Have all you want…IF YOU CAN PAY FOR THEM…..

  I’m at the suppermarket paying cash for food…..The ‘octomom’ in front of me paid five bucks in cash for $312.62 worth of groceries because her checks didnt cover it all. And she was still bitchen about it.

  No goverment dole….have all you want. Homeschool if your smart,,,, ( There was 9 of us and we went to private and home school, plus paid school taxes for public school), because thats the way our system works……we paid our ‘Fair share’.

  I have close to 30 nieces and nephews. Oldest sister adopted four siblings from.
  .a Russian mother. dumping her children on the Soviet system (to keep them as a family) in addition to the three of her own. Not one dime of of public funds.Oldest is a Med School grad, the rest are in college or going next year.
  Another sister has 8 children, Oldest is in college, Homeschools the rest and does triathilons on the side.

  This is only two out of six….plus the two Brothers….
  This can go on and on……..
  In our family, we would take in or help as many as God placed on our doorstep……..of as many as my mother had at that time…….

  Neo….I taught my six year old son how to use an Abicus properly for just that reason. Using a map vs GPS, and as I type he is reading aloud, in bed, from my 20 plus yr old Calvin & Hobbes collection.

  He is I-pad savy, but we also have every game system console from Atari (pong),Nintendo64 to Wii. He loves them all….
  We also learn about the present, without forgeting about our founding fathers, and history……
