  • Still blaming Bush? When is Obama going to take ownership in the office to which he was elected? And the really scary part is that he may just get another 4 years to make even a bigger mess!!!

  • Is that possible “toxic smoke” coming from this “green energy” source??? ;)

  • And these American people were only exercising their rights to voice their opinions that all those Veterans as well as those currently serving in the US Military have fought and died for to protect. As a USAF Veteran myself I’m proud of this Country and am glad that the people were free to do as they wished!!!

  • I was watching the History Channel via Cable One in Anniston, AL and there was a scrolling message about the TEST at the top of the screen. However after quickly going through several other cable channels, including the local Birmingham, AL television market, most did not seem to have any type of test alert message. There did seem to be at least a few of those local B’ham TV stations that did though.

  • Funny how OWS makes claims that it doesn‘t won’t to be absorbed by the Democratic Party. But have they denounced or refused to be aligned with or associated to any of these ‘other’ groups?

  • Actually the only amateur radio operators that would be “legally” able to transmit during a declared emergency by the President of the United States, under the War Powers Act specifically, would be those properly licensed by the FCC and that have been certified by a civil defense agency as a RACES member. RACES stands for “Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service,“ and I am an amateur radio operator and belong to a local RACES group as well as a ARES ”Amateur Radio Emergency Service” group and work closely with the local county and state EMA where I live during severe weather events and other incidents.

  • Well I sure do! My Dad worked as a DJ at various radio stations as I was growing up back in the late 60‘s to early 70’s. Actually got to see him go through the checklist and steps when those “old” EBS Test would come up when he was “on-the-air”.

  • Hmm… I wonder where they are getting all that “capitalist” money from and which “capitalist” financial establishment they will want to secure all their funds in??? ;)

  • I find it curious, that in the name of education and furthering the learning of a foreign language, that school administrators/officials have no problem with students reciting the pledge or national anthem from that foreign county but when the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States is recited there is an outrage by stating that it might be offensive to others. God help and bless the USA!!!

  • Well being a local resident of where this incident took place I have been following this very closely. And earlier today Olive Garden did post the following on it’s Facebook page:

    “Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
We’ve had some questions about whether or not guests can bring the American flag into our restaurants. We are very sorry for any misunderstanding about this issue. We do not have a policy at Olive Garden concerning bringing the American flag into our restaurants. Some members of our team were misinformed about company policy by our corporate office. As a company we take responsibility for that and we regret it. We take pride in how we communicate to our restaurants and we are correcting this so it doesn’t happen again. Like all Americans we have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the American flag and everything it symbolizes, and we welcome anyone who wishes to bring the flag into our restaurants. In fact, we periodically provide American flag collar pins to our employees to wear while serving guests”

Still can’t convince me that this is a true apology though, but more like corporate double-talk and some fast backtracking!!!.
