  Who says dues are paid just because someone’s been released from prison? If you‘re a convicted thief I think it would be helpful to law enforcement to know not only that but any number of things that might fit a profile of someone they’re looking for. This guys problem wasn’t that he had a record (which he did do something to earn one, just not that one), it‘s that our government bureaucracy can’t fix poop without him hiring the “right” attorneys. Seriously, all contact with the government has to be done through a lawyer or a lobbyist now if you want results.
