  I’m going to guess that no one commenting here even cracked open the book, such as the good John Piper when his attack of Bell. Sad really. As Glenn Beck has taught us “Do your own homework”. The Apostle Paul exhorts in a similar way, “Test everything”. Does anyone wonder why the newspaper didn’t quote him verbatim? For example, quoted from the Tennessean 1. “Bell argued that hell was not eternal.” False. Bell challenged the reader to think about hell in an eternal and also a present state. If you have been to Darfur, you may have experienced hell in the present state. One of Christianity’s flaws is focusing on another life and doing nothing for the Kingdom of Heaven in the present that Jesus frequently refers to. Jesus is a “Get out of Jail Free” card. Got saved, living for me! 2. “[Bell] wrote that people could leave hell if they wanted to.” False. Bell indicated in the book that God may give you a chance after you die, avoiding hell. Which in fact no one knows for sure. However, I don’t believe its a risk anyone should be willing to make. Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  Piper, and others, should’ve been careful in light of James 4:11-12. It’s rather amusing watching Traditionalists run around in a panic over questions and independent thinking. God says He will punish whom He will punish and show mercy to whom He will show mercy. Love God, love others and let God do what He does best…everything else. Because after all LOVE WINS
