  Thoughts on Bi-furcation:

  The emerging are lower than us, we are higher.
  They are rising, we are lowering. Then We are converging. Not bifurcating.
  We are getting closer.
  That is the opposite of bifurcation, branching. It is convergence. Which is what we should have done at the turn of the milleniem, but we didn’t put any oomph in any effort at the time. The effort being, converging with the poor, by making neat survival gadgets so cheap they all get given them as we ourselves get them. We will eventually be getting neat survival gadgets as we go on our way down and wave to the African arab nations going on their way up… yeah… right…sure…
