  • The 0% income tax is for individuals and families with a reportable income below the poverty level. They currently do not contribute to the cost of the federal government. Today, many of those families have unreported income from the underground economy. The 9% sales tax will cause them to contribute at least something to the cost of government. It has nothing to do with level of income except that because the wealthier spend more, they will contribute more than those with lesser means.

Additionally, there are individuals and families who earn more than the poverty level, but currently pay no federal income tax. The 9% income tax plus the 9% sales tax will cause them to contribute something for the cost of government. These features broaden the tax base.

The 9% sales tax is NOT a VAT. Every product is taxed, every product is taxed ONLY once. It is charged ONLY at the consumer level, not along the way. Services are not taxed. It also replaces embedded taxes, what Herman calls “sneak a-taxation,” and removes all payroll taxes, The benefits of this are many. It increases worker’s take home pay, it reduces the cost of production which translates to lower prices for consumers, it does this without reducing wages, and it makes US companies more competitive in global markets.

    I call it “9-9-9 means jobs-jobs-jobs which is a win-win-win.”

And that’s not all! The pro-growth, pro-job, pro-export economic benefits of the 9-9-9 PLAN equals a strong dollar policy.

  • My friend, Rick Francona, has been laying out the dangers of Amateur Hour at The White House for days:

  • The spread of lies, distortions, misrepresentations, and other falsehoods will have the desired effect by fooling some of the people all of the time and supplying others with echo chamber talking points even while knowing them to be false.
Slayer is exactly right. This innuendo that distorts the truth, misrepresents the facts, and dishonestly implies dishonesty in their political opponents will be repeated by useful idiots and willing accomplices.

  • I wrote a paper in 1985 on the dangers of journalism, focusing on reporters, videographers, and TV crews covering wars, riots, and natural disasters.

The number of violent deaths and serious injuries of journalists has risen steadily every decade. Whatever one’s perception is of the journalists under attacked in Egypt, they are predominately American citizens doing a job under difficult, and often dangerous conditions.

All Americans should condemn the violence and pray for their safety, regardless of one’s perception of a political bias.

  • D-Rat! I was looking so forward to a Daily Countdown to the end of Milbank’s Palin free February so he could return to having The Last Word on playing Hardball with the forward leaning former Governor.

  • According to Grayson, the Jackass of Central Florida, he has “heard endless braying from the Republicans…”

Merriam~Webster defines braying as: to utter the characteristic loud harsh cry of a donkey.

    Project much?
