  • Be mighty hard to get by on that. Falsifying information like that, grounds for immediate dismissal, and they do background checks. Seriously, do you just not think about these things?

  • Did you not read the article? VETERANS, not active duty, smart guy. Meaning, we’re out. Service is complete. Not going back, in other words. Honestly, do you not pay attention? And if you’re citing Inactive Ready Reserve, they usually don’t ever get bothered. We have the normal Reserve and Guard components for that.

  • Strange.. I thought the Establishment Clause stated that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..” I’m no lawyer, but I‘m pretty sure a small Alabama town in the middle of nowhere ain’t Congress, or they’d have the power to declare war, as well.

  • Some of us joined the military to serve our country, dickwad. Just happens we get paid to do it. Most of us probably know how to find a job better than you’ve ever tried, but we get crazy looks because we‘re ’potential terrorists‘ whether we’ve actually been deployed or not. Maybe before you start talking BS about someone, you should actually get to know a few.

You ain’t never studied history much, have you? Take a long hard look at the Weimar Republic. Take another look at the events leading up to our Civil War. Then take a good look at what’s been happening here recently. It won’t be a civil war like the first one, but it’ll still be one, only uglier for the lack of organized groups. Not sure exactly how it’ll go, but if things don’t get a little less polarized, we’re gonna go up like a powder keg. Maybe it’ll calm down, maybe not. Personally, I’d rather be ready and nothing happen than all hell break loose and me not have a damned thing done to protect myself from losing everything. You want freedoms lost, though, I remember an article a few months back, a kid was interrogated by the Secret Service over a Facebook post he made expressing honest concern for Obama after bin Laden was killed. There’s the expansion of the TSA, which includes the warrantless searches. ObamaCare, which forces you to buy insurance or pay a fine, or if you’ve not the money for either, you spend jail time. No, that part ain’t in there, but that‘s what happens when you don’t pay fines. I’m half-asleep at the moment, or I’d actually cite the information with links, and probably give you a few more examples. And I am both sane and conservative. Get over it.

  • Homosexuality is biological? Interesting notion. I was under the impression that biological traits were genetic, and were either for the purpose of survivability and continuance of the species or else a defect.. Homosexuality does neither. By this definition, if homosexuality is biological, then those who have this trait are genetically defective. Still wanting to claim it’s biological?

  • We are ODST? Insane..

  • Just a suggestion, but maybe you’d like to take a look at some of the textbooks used in times past in America. The New England Primer, for one, which cites the Bible and Biblical teachings frequently. This was in public schools, mind you, and I should think that those who helped to write the Constitution would know better than you or I what is Constitutional or not. Also, referring to the Establishment Clause, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Last I checked, the Department of Education and the public school system wasn’t Congress. Otherwise, schools are the ones that can legally declare war. If this district wants to keep the Bible man, let them. Sounds to me like he’s got a lot of support.

  • Someone else finally caught that one, did they? Arms include any kind of weapon, not just firearms. At the time the Constitution had been written, they were still using muskets. The primary close quarters weapon was still a saber or long knife. Arms meant not just muskets, but close quarters weapons and cannons as well. No doubts, a gun is the more effective weapon in usage, but a melee weapon, whether bladed or impact based(hammers and ax-type weapons for you non-knife law savvy people) tends to be a bit more obvious, and makes a person less interested in harming you. Many of these have secondary purposes beyond being simply a weapon, yet we have laws that prevent one from even owning some kinds of weapons in a number of states. Not a word do I hear. Personally, I like being able to own something that don’t run out of ammunition and can be used a bit more roughly if need be.

  • Is the Term ‘African-American’ Accurate in 2012?

    In reply to NorthernX.

I’ll stick to American mutt. lol Bit of this, bit of that, if I have any claim to a culture, it’s Southern, which is American. Never did get the whole hyphenated nationality deal.
