  • uh… just go ahead and keep picking on the so-called “Cain-ites” …. taking your exam wouldn’t do a thing to change your mind. Just so you know, Ron Paul is my last choice of the lot. But if he is the last man standing – I’ll vote for him. I’ve really been wondering if Ron Paul supporters would do the same if he is not nominated. I tend to doubt it – but still have hope for that change.

  • Report: Third Woman Accuses Cain of Harassment

    In reply to tricia.

“I gave Cain the benefit of the doubt, up until this story. Chris Wilson, may be a Perry guy but would he really lie? He witnessed something that everyone knew? We don’t need a Clinton, light. Sorry Mr Cain”

    Tricia,
Pro-Perry Super-PAC supporter, Chris Wilson, brings up some instance of what he claims to be inapproprate behavior by Mr. Cain toward women he knew. OK, that’s interesting, but those women never reported anything. We don’t even know who these women are. And he’s Clinton light? Either you have set the bar for sexual harrassment WAY low, or you never supported Cain in the first place.

Personal experience taught me when a sexual harasser does his work, it’s done when and where nobody else can witness it. They are manipulators, they are crafty. When I walked off my job after months of sexual and emotional harrassment, my married ex-boss even had his wife believing it was ME sexually harrassing him! You’d be amazed at how disqusting true sexual harrassers are. If Herman Cain was sexually harassing women out in the open for ALL to see… he wasn’t very good at it.

  • by the way, I was agreeing with JULES too. Not the troll.

    In reply to Jules.

    AMEN! Excellent post.

  • Years ago, I worked for a man as a “Girl Friday”. I was in my early 20′s, and he (guessing) late 50‘s early 60’s and married. Shortly after being hired, he began to literaly sexually harrass me. He’d touch me inappropriately, try to kiss me, call me at home constantly to invite me to dinner, and other awful things. I fended off his aggression for too long (I was young and dumb). I put up with verbal abuse about what a horrible worker I was, and that I could be replaced. I put up with it for months because I “needed” the job. (word to dumb: no one needs one THAT badly!) Finally, one day, he spoke the familar words, “you can be replaced”, and I stood up and said, “You do that.” and I walked out. It felt great. I never pressed charges. Didn’t have the courage. It could just be me, but the stories I’ve heard so far, about the women, aren’t adding up to sexual harrassment to me. I say that because I know I could handle 1 or 2 uncomfortable moments, but it’s the continual manipulation that truly gets harrassing. At first I wondered, “is it me?” and in time you finally realize NO, it’s not. The things I‘ve heard making those women uncomfortable don’t rise to the bar for me. If he grabbed their boobs, tried to kiss them, harrassed them at home, threatened their job for not complying- etc. I can relate. I worked in the construction field. A sissy girl I was not. Off color jokes, or even inuendo I could handle. Sexual harrassment truly does suck, if it’s real.

  • Amen.

  • stronger smelling maybe.

  • Poem written by SMSgt. Don S. Miller, USAF (Ret.)
    “My Name Is Old Glory”

The first time I heard it, was when it was recited at my dad’s military honor funeral (US Navy CPO)
It touched me so. The perfect poem for flag day.

It is found at this link.

  • @CHET … her ideas on capitalism do not pan out when testing in the real world?

History does not agree with you. The real world of the Pilgrims started with socialized agriculture. The whole community of about 100 settlers worked the land and divided the profits as each family or individual had a need. (Marx liked that idea too) The REAL WORLD result? It was a disaster. Under that system they became lazy and selfish and there was wide spread starvation and strife. Then, Governor Bradford assigned a parcel of land to every family, creating a system of private property. The result? A whole bunch of ambitious workers. More crops were planted, and those with extra, sold it for profit. The colony flourished. Socialism almost destroyed them. Their adjustment to a free market system is foundational in the success of our country. Not to forget, they were also devout Christians.

It’s one example of why capitalism is the better than any other system tried. The problem today is that we’re getting too far away from it. We need stop mixing it with socialism. We get back to the basics and we’ll do fine. A study of William Bradford’s colony would do you good.

  • “Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country
who tries most to promote its virtue, and who will not allow a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.” – Samuel Adams

This is why the Wiener story is important. Bottom line, it’s up to us to be true friends to the liberty of our country by paying attention and weeding out ALL those that Samuel Adams describes.
