  • I have always found it interesting that here in on-line forums, we all pretend to be our best selves behind fake identities. Who here is willing to really show who they are by using their given names when they post? This article asks “Who are you?” and is very upfront about why they want to know.

Me? I’m a conservative, christian, lesbian, mother of two, married woman, employee, employer, tech guru for real estate technologies who beleives the government is way too big and completely understands the desire of the left to “take care of” those less fortunate and could only wish that back when this all started, those efforts would have been put toward private charitable organizing instead of government take-over. I believe that the more we reject (and help others reject) the “help” of government, the better off we will all be.

  • I haven’t read all the comments, nevertheless, I’m disturbed by some of those that I have read. A man, whether he is a veteran or not (and I take him at his word that he is) was badly injured by the tactics used by police. My prayers go out to him and his family.

When crowds respond to police commands by putting themselves into harms way, is there any surprise that some get injured?

If I were a peaceful protester, standing back from the primary place of conflict and could reasonably see that the result of protesters actions could in fact be police taking action nearby, my rubber necking mentality might just keep me there long enough that I too could get hurt and I wouldn’t blame the police (okay, I probably would at first but honestly..I stood there).

This veteran made a choice and sadly, it cost him. Let’s hope there is no long term damage and that he recovers quickly.

  • That’s a great idea and much nicer than my knee jerk reaction which was to find a way to make them even more miserable than they already are. So I say a prayer instead and ask God to calm my anger at so much blatant stupidity run amok. I believe the majority of the protesters are simply “misguided” and I’m sure they believe the same about me.

  • Wow, you want the military to be on the conservative side? Really? God help you. Glen asks us all to do the right thing and your thought is that the right thing involves the military?

  • I‘ve read the story and didn’t bother with the comments because I’m afraid what some of my fellow conservatives may have written. Being a gay conservative really does cause me to walk a tight rope.

Personally, I’ll continue to shop at these retailers who do not drop their affiliation with those who support views which differ from mine however, I‘ll make sure I don’t use the portals which go towards supporting those charitable organizations.

As for the boycott, I think it’s a great expression of american free speech and the ultimate in community action. A valuable tool that rarely works as evidenced by the Glenn Beck, the BP boycotts etc.. If those in support of the boycott are using inaccurate data, slanders, outright falsehoods then the companies and charities involved should take steps to remedy the record otherwise, simply promote your position in as positive a light as possible and reject giving any more attention to your nay-sayers than is necessary. Isnt’ there something about turn the other cheek?

  • Sad to see reasonable people falling to pieces because the topic has to do with affection between two consenting adults. What concerns me most is the comments which assume that the actress was intentionally attempting to mis-lead the public about the level of affection displayed. You have no way of knowing if she was lying or not and yet just because she is gay, you assume she is lying.

Next time I’m on a southwest flight and see a hetero couple snuggling or smooching, I’m going to complain and see what happens. My guess is.. nothing but then that would be terribly presumptuous of me to assume that heterosexuals and this corporation are misrepresenting the truth of the situation… wouldn’t it?

  • He was found and questioned but isn’t in jail. That type of restraint is refreshing. This type of threat has to be taken seriously and followed up on and those that are “simply” a case of drunk, drugged or stupid instead of seriously dangerous can be let off with a good scare.

  • FF is extreme when they take their religious beliefs into the realm of law, trying to force all to conform to their religious convictions. The Church can determine what marriage is within the religious context but when government gets involved, it becomes a secular thing that can not be limited by one set of religious doctrine. They probably do great work and promote fear as well.

  • I’m glad to hear he took this step away from an organization that is very extreme

  • ForeverMax needs to take a pill.
