Young Adults Are Abandoning Church In Record Numbers — Is This the Solution?
May 7, 2012 at 5:27pm
Be careful what you wish for. I know plenty of hard core atheists raised by religious parents who sent them to religious school all their lives.
Young Adults Are Abandoning Church In Record Numbers — Is This the Solution?

Sounds about right. Both of my parents are very religious. I left the church when I was 30. I never went back. Neither have my siblings. We were raised hard core Southern Baptist though. Nothing will beat the belief out of you like a SBC church.
Elizabeth Warren Says She Registered as Part Native American for the ‘Luncheons’
May 3, 2012 at 11:05am
I’m 1/8 Cherokee myself. Never registered, or used it to get a government restitution check, money to pay for college. As much as I’m proud of my heritage, government welfare hasn’t done the Indian nations any favors.
$119,922,500: Iconic Painting ‘The Scream’ Becomes Most Expensive Artwork Ever Sold at Auction
May 3, 2012 at 10:22am
Thomas Kinkade is loathed and despised by so called “real” artists (aka psuedo intellectual wannabe with suicidal tendencies) because he was a success. AND he was alive while achieving this success. His art appealed to many. In the pretentious, sanctimonious and disingenuous world of art, to be a success among the masses is a no no. How dare the many unwashed mouth breathers be allowed to define their own ideals of what is appealing. Oh no. Only the anorexic elite can shellac a turd, sprinkle it with lima beans and deem it “art”. The very fact that the art world elite eat this up, is very telling.

I realize art is subjective but my 3 year old paints better than that.

FL County Purchases Hundreds of New Cars…Then Abandons Them for Years in Parking Garage

Someone must have owed a favor to “buddy” with a dealership who needed to unload non-selling vehicles. Nice.
“130K miles? Shouldn’t car last a little longer than that? The above ‘91 Tercel pushed 195K.”
That’s nothing. My husband has a 1993 Saturn SL we call the Green Booger that has well over 300K miles on it. I wish he’d get rid of it but I think we wants to see how far it will go before it falls apart.
Does Cohabitation Damage Marriages? Dueling Op-Eds Weigh the Odds

Actually, divorce rates have declined since their peak in the early 1980′s.
Does Cohabitation Damage Marriages? Dueling Op-Eds Weigh the Odds
April 20, 2012 at 9:59am
Good analysis and I agree. Cohabitation has no bearing on whether or not a marriage stays together. We live in a society where everyone is looking for the BBB – the Bigger Better Deal. My husband and I dated for 3 years, lived together for 4 years and have been married now for 14 years. My great grandparents lived together for over 60 years and were never married until the last 6 years of their life together- something we never knew until both of them died and we discovered their marriage license. We live in a transient society that believes the grass is always greener elsewhere. People move from job to job, town to town and relationship to relationship regardless of their upbringing or background.
‘Offensive and Inappropriate for a Teen’: Lesbian Image in Urban Outfitters’ April Catalogue Draws Controversy
April 18, 2012 at 3:59pm
Uh, yeah I’ve seen gay children. My entire family knew my cousin was gay 20 years before he “came out” to all of us. At 3 years of age he was interested in barbie dolls, playing house and was excessively feminine even in a house with 2 brothers and a hyper masculine father who everything he could to beat the “queer” out of him but it didn’t change who my cousin was. Only when my uncle died, did my cousin tell us what had been blatantly plain from the beginning.
