  • Someone has Captain James Tiberius Kirk as his/her avatar (do I use the term correctly here?). In one episode he says, “Too much of anything, even love, isn’t necessarily a good thing.” How true. Echohawk is a fine example: nonsense run amok. It may be fun for awhile to spar with stupidity just to watch it be stupid, but at some point – preferably sooner not later – IT SHOULD STOP. It becomes a vicious cyle of Stupid taking himself to a lower level and us following him there. Stop sinking to his level and ignore him, please! You can’t reason with these people, you can’t shout them down (shouldn’t try), and you can’t negotiate or compromise with them. We must defeat them with and in truth. (Liberals/statists/marxists are our homegrown Al Qaeda jihadists who will do anything – ANYTHING – to win. The means don’t matter to them as long their ends are achieved.)

  • I agree…in part. I think that those of us who are awake to the truth will have further confirmation that, frankly, we don’t need anymore. What we may need is some truth that will wake directly some of those who sleep, and give the Awake some points that can help awaken those who need a little nudge.

  • I originality supported Herman Cain, and I’ll vote for just about anybody to oust this tyrant, as long as he/she doesn’t have horns and was born in the U.S. Having said that, I have always like Santorum; I just didn’t see him as having the force of character (not to be confusted with strength) to successfully run a campaign and take on the statist media. I was clearly wrong about that. Rick’s got game…and spine. If, God willing, he continues on this path, I won’t have to vote for the proverbial ham sandwich (Newt or Mitt). (I like a nice ham sandwich as much as anyone, but I didn’t envision one getting elected to high office!) God bless us, every one.

  • So Cenk believes that government is not the problem, that evil bankers are to blame, because they are buying off the the government. Um, Cenk, if evil bankers are buying off government officials, which includes politicians, what does that say about our government? It’s like drugs – there would be no market for drugs (influence) and the drug dealers (influence peddlers) if there were no willing buyers (government officials and politicians). People like you, your fellow hacks, and your friends in ivory towers are the problem. Why, because you are people who think you are smarter than everyone who doesn’t agree with you. Arrogance! No humility! No servant’s heart! Unlike the days of our founding, we don’t have the best and brightest leading us; it is the blind leading the blind, and you’ve driven us into the ditch.

  • Richard, I agree with you, and I wish it mattered. We have grown accustomed to the face of evil. We have grown comfortable with lies: about budget projections and budget deficits; about what is a need and what is a right; about the very definitions of liberty and justice and republic and freedom, even salvation. I have stopped watching almost all television news, particularly morning and commentary shows, because the lie is perpetuated daily that we still need to hear both sides of a story or argument or theory before making a decision about what to believe. I believe that you and I are well past this point: we know what to believe, and it is now a matter of whether we can successfully convince the majority of America before there is no longer an America to persuade.

I am all for having a laugh, seeing the lighter side (read many of these post, with cute or snide or gallows humor). I have described myself as a serious man with a sense of humor, and it is fine when it only affects a few people. We are talking about the long-planned destruction of the Republic, the last light of man in a world where nearly the only light left is cast by the fires of war. If this is God’s will, then so be it. But I can’t lean back in my easy chair and have a giggle about it. I am writing, I am getting better educated, I am praying more. I am looking for opportunities to get more involved in my community and beyond. I am doing what I can to prepare my family for hard(er) times. I am ready to speak publicly if opportunities arise.

Richard, in addition to expecting a balanced budget and a change of direction toward liberty and the rule of law, we must expect the honesty, integrity, decency, and personal and professional accountability that are absolutely essential – from leaders and lobbyists, indeed all of us – if we are to succeed and this country return to the path envisioned by our forefathers.

God bless us, every one. I have posted this on my blog at http://www.mcblahg.com.

  • It’s probably both, or maybe since these leftists want to shrink the military, Val was just giving the officer an opportunity to practice for his next profession.

  • From a Christian perspective, I should counsel anyone to be careful who they call a fool, but when I think about this child playing at statecraft at the expense of every American dream, I find it hard to disagree with you. Good riddance indeed! I just wish retirement had begun on November 3rd.

  • Gotta love it when they make it so easy to understand that the only way they can combat the truth is by calling the truth tellers liars and evil. The liberal mind has no better tactic, because they do not have facts or reason on their side, much less God. They are living and advocating a lie, so they are incapable of speaking anything but lies.

  • I’m sorry, but…WHAT? I can hardly believe what some of you – and regular posters at that – are saying to each other. You not only display ignorance, but hatred. I admit to wondering what started all of this and whether Kathleen‘s parents did anything to provoke their neighbors’ reaction, but the idea that some of you think that their behavior is not criminal is ignorant beyond belief. You don’t have to punch someone to be guilty of assault. You only have to threaten someone to the point of fear of personal safety, or act in such a way that you intentionally violate their ability to live in peace. Life. Liberty. The pursuit of happiness. People, it’s not that hard. And as far as the court action is concerned, the woman‘s children weren’t put in the hands ot THE STATE; they were placed in the custody of another parent. This part of the dispute goes back further than Solomon. Would you rather that some impartial third party just cut the kids in twain? Oh…wait…I’m channeling Rodney King. DARN IT. Oh, just let the profound stupidity and hatred flow.

A fundamental tenet of any communist/Marxist/statist/leftist/progressive/liberal elitist (man, there are just so many labels to choose from!) is that freedom of speech exists for as far and for as long as you agree with them. I guess it doesn’t dawn on them (really, they don’t care) that this means there is no such thing as free speech.
