  • Putting the fire out at that moment would have been the right thing to do.
    Charging him full price for the effort would have been incentive for others to pay the $75 fee, not a disincentive for others not to pay the $75 fee.

    That would have been a win-win and the family would have learned a hard lesson but would at least still have their home and priceless momentos. That would have been a more humane consequences for a civilized society unlike what happened here in MY OPINION.

    Shame on those who forbid the fire fighters from acting to save the home (for the price) and shame on the fire fighters standing there who could not see past the orders of the officials and squirt the fire hoses water already there on that house.
