  This is the type of action that gives teachers a bad name; obviously not fully qualified! She may have the degree, but not the common sense to go with it. She reminds me of the math teacher my stepson had in Savannah, GA. several years ago-she got her MS in math education in ONE SUMMER and night classes over one quarter. Fantastic! She had trouble adding numbers on a calculator, couldn’t even come close to explaining the trigonometry she was supposed to be teaching.

  College is expensive, I finally got my son and daughter through with their educations. They both worked pretty hard to do it. My daughter earned scholarships (Non-Government types) and we paid the rest. I’m in debt because of it too, but it sure isn’t $80K to $200K. I know when to say no and so do my children. My daughter borrowed $10K to get through the last year of grad school; it’s now paid off. My son borrowed more than that and he’s got a ways to go, but nowhere near $80K. And neither of them are unemployed! They didn’t major in history or underwater basket-weaving. Anyone that goes through college has to weigh their ability to pay for their education, it sure isn‘t the taxpayers’ fault.Maybe you have to go to school part-time while working, so you can pay your tuition and earn your degrees. I know a lot of young people who’ve done just that. You can’t just sit on you duff and borrow the cash: YOU’VE GOT TO PAY IT BACK !!

  How right you are, Santorum is NOT a conservative. He is for big government, anti-2nd amendment, and is not fiscally conservative. Not much difference between him and Obummer.

  The Pledge of Allegiance is mandated by Washington state law. The school and indeed the entire school district needs to be aware of state laws and conform to them. I taught school for many years in this state (WA), and continue to substitute teach. We say the pledge every day. It may seem outrageous to some people, but it is the LAW and if you don’t like it, there are ways to change it. If you go to public school in this state ( and many other states), you will say the Pledge.
