  • Pastor Jones on ‘Today’: ‘God Is Telling Us to Stop’

You are right that God will judge, and I agree that it is most likely just around the corner. However, 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” I think that is what Glenn is hoping for. Whether the majority of our nation is willing to do that, who knows?

  • Gingrich Movie: ‘America at Risk’ Set For 9/11 Debut

Even idiots have freedom of speech. If he has nothing better to do than hang out here all day and night, maybe he’ll learn something through osmosis.

  • The last paragraph of the article says it all. I wish the people in charge would tell the truth. We need to accept that no matter how much we bend over backwards to try and keep from offending them, they are still going to hate us and they are still going to want us dead. Once we accept that simple fact, then we can begin preparing ourselves for the war for which they have been preparing for centuries.

Haven’t you heard? We’re afraid of Islam. Your freedom of speech extends to dead soldiers’ funerals, voter intimidation of white voters by the New Black Panthers, etc. But we forfeit our freedom of speech, and sometimes even our right to life, when it comes to Islam because if we offend them, they’ll get mad and hurt us. If we continue trying to appease them, maybe they will start liking us. Think so?

  • This is exactly why we need MORE negative campaigning! They always criticize candidates for negative campaigning, but it’s the only way we find out things like this. What good is a “positive” campaign? Anyone can say things to build themselves up. What we need to know is why we SHOULDN’T vote for a particular candidate.

  • The names, party affiliations, and districts of each of them should be posted publicly. Voters have the right to know the character and honesty of their candidates. We’re supposed to be voting for real change come November, but how can we know what we’ll get after we vote? Just as celebrities have had to accept that they can have no real “private life”, our politicians should be treated the same way. If they choose to be a representative of the people in their district, then they should be openly accountable to those people – complete transparency. We want to know who they are so they can be kicked out in disgrace!

    “Coverage”, pun intended?

  • Pastor Jones should never have planned to do this in the first place because now he has no way to back down without losing face and giving the appearance that the terrorists have, once again, intimidated us into submission. It was a stupid idea to begin with; it accomplishes nothing. It might be different if he had the support of his own country and his own government, but clearly, he does not. Threats such as burning their holy book should only be made when and if we have the will and the military power to back them up. And I don’t see that ever happening.

You are right; we can’t trust either party. The first thing we have to do is get rid of the Dems in charge in order to try and slow the downward slide we’re on. Then we need to keep replacing people, both Dems and Reps every time they vote in a way contrary to the good of the country. Eventually, hopefully, they will learn that they are sent to Washington to do perform a service and their staying power will depend on how well they do that job and for how long they can keep it up.
