  Lived in Grand Forks for 5 years while wife (and money) went to UND, and the area is ingrained in the college more than other places I have lived. They are a proud people and if you spend just winter there, you would understand why these folks’ attitude is, “Leave us alone.” I am glad to see they have the nads to stand up to political correctness. If the NFL can say the Washington Redskins can keep their name because it’s part of history…well, pass the lutefisk.

  My 13-year old has a pellet gun very similar to that one (yes, he has had gun safety training).
  I am amazed at the likeness of his pellet gun to my .45 caliber handgun. The pellet gun looks absolutely the same as a larger caliber gun and if someone were brandishing it in a situation like that, I wouldn’t spend too much time asking myself, “What if it’s only a pellet gun?”. Sad story, but as tension escalates when police tell you to drop your gun a few times, what do you really think is going to happen?
