  • Mitt Romney Sweeps All Five Primaries Tonight

    April 24, 2012 at 9:29pm

    In reply to Netsurfer2.

That is extremely disrespectful to diss someones religious belief. The garments Mormons wear are sacred and should not be mocked. Many religions have sacred articles of clothing or jewelry. Have some respect for those that have chosen to follow their religion and actually practice what is preached.

  • Is this cartoon racist, funny, or what?

    April 23, 2012 at 11:28am

The only racist thing here is that he appears to be cooking the dog in a wok. Does this cartoonist have something against china?

  • Oh and his other lie: The Doctorine Covenants is not in the Book of Mormon. It is a separate book, but for convenience has been bound together with the Book of Mormon and the Pearle of Great Price (a triple combination) and in some cases with the Bible (a quadruple combination).

  • Funny, isn’t it. How someones opinion and view is regarded as a blatant lie if it is not your same view or opinion. I would have to call Mr Bashir on his lies. The statement: “He can either keep lying and potentially win the White House, but bring eternal damnation upon himself or he can start telling the truth.“ The lies in this statement are that Mitt Romney could ”potentially” win the White House. You can’t POTENTIALLY win, you either win or you don’t. Second is the assumptive lie that if he tells the truth, he does not have any chance at winning the White House. See how I am able to make Mr Bashir’s statements a lie, just based on my opinion? However, to solidify that these statements of his are a lie, I will get someone on the phone and ask them if they can validate these lies………. And there you have it, John has just confirmed what I have said.

  • like what? How do they nullify the word of God?

  • ASHESTOASHES, why not http://www.lds.org ? Afraid people might actually find out what Mormons really believe by visiting the official Mormon website?

  • Mormons are really good at genealogy and could probably track down where Mr Obama was born, when, to whom and who his grandparents, great grandparents, great-great grandparents…. are, better than any politician has been able to. Mr Obama does not want the genealogy buffs ticked off if attacks Romney’s Mormon faith.

  • Is being “weird” a bad thing?

  • I hear a lot of people say that the Mormon’s are full of secrecy. Why? There is nothing secret about the Mormon religion. There are Ordinances that are performed in their Temples that only members with Temple recommends can attend, such as baptisms, marriages and receiving instruction on how to be a faithful spouse and follower of Jesus Christ (all of which is detailed in the Bible). When a new Temple is built they invite the world to come in and see it, no secrets. Once the open house is over, these sacred ordinances can then be performed. They are not secret, but SACRED. They do not discuss these things outside the Temple because of their sacredness. Just as they do not repeatedly speak the name of God or Jesus in everyday conversation, because they are to be kept sacred and not used in vain (without regard for showing respect). I respect the Mormon’s for being UNIQUE and “Weird” because they are willing to look past what “the world” says is right and continue to live as Christ has asked them to: Be ye in the world, but not of the world.

  • He asked to be corrected on anything he said wrong about Joseph Smith. Well maybe it would be easier to say what he got right: He pronounced Joseph Smith correctly, that’s it.

Next, the reason the leaders of the church (if he really extended an invitation, which I doubt) refuse to discuss these issues on TV shows like his, is because they are not live and take great liberty in editing to get the content they desire. Words can easily be twisted to say something they never were meant to say. If you want to know what the church believes and why, visit http://www.lds.org and read through the online magazine called “Ensign”. Especially those marked as a General Conference issue. This is where the modern day messages from God’s Prophet and Apostles can be found. They don‘t need to be interviewed by Mr O’donnell to get their message out. It’s already out for anyone who wants to read it.
