  I’m 72 years old and I well remember when a fellow like this would never have dared let his “lifestyle” (isn’t “lifestyle” something that is “chosen” ??) be known – and most certainly would not have spoken like this in public as he has. People like him were hiding under rocks or in closets or somewhere and on the occasion they did come out, they usually regretted it. As I remember it, it most definitely WAS NOT the Christians who persecuted those who dared do anything similar to what he has done here. Now I know that nowadays many (if not most) “Rednecks” are Christian but a long time ago, that wasn’t the way it was.
  I was there and I remember.

  Oh yes, and why exactly is this speech (and video) not a hate crime?

  No matter how evil a thing is, if it becomes common, it soon becomes the “accepted”. When it becomes “accepted” it then becomes “normal” – and from there, the “rule”. God help us and please, preserve the USA.

  Earlier in a comment, Jim Bakker was disparaged – and in part, rightly so because of his failures early in life – but if there are those of you who care, Google him now and see what his life is like. Turns out, his life bears no similarity to those of some of his contemporaries including Jimmy Swaggart. He truly has a ministry now that is truly doing God’s work here and changing many lives.
  Back to the subject at hand tho, to me Denzel Washington is a man’s man. He speaks the truth usually and lets the chips fall where they may. Naturally, the liberal press (and many of these commentors) do their best to crucify him for his faith – and so it goes . ……. .

  This young man is the very kind of American that we need lots more of!! Jeff Kirtland needs to somewhere that he is never around children – or young men like James even. For those who seem to have forgotten, this (in spite of what Obama says) IS a Christian nation (thanks be to God) and will remain so for as long as there are God fearing Christians here and the Constitution remains rule of law. I“m aware that ”this is just a song” but to that, let me write a little thing that I’ve seen to be true, over and over in my 72 years here: “The unfamiliar spoken enough, soon becomes the familiar. Then, it becomes the “accepted” – and eventually, the “accepted” becomes the “normal”! There should be incentive for at least 50% of this nation to object to “Mohammadism” becoming the “normal” here – and that is the subjugation of women. How can we (men or women) forget (overlook, ignore, disregard, not consider, believe, allow) or EVER think that the Muslim religion is something that we as Americans could endure given the freedoms that we know in this incredible country! God, please bless and save these United States of America

  I have 22 grandchildren and several of them could qualify as “expert”. I taught my sons that “every gun is always loaded” – and admonished them not to forget that. The younger ones have been taught the same and despite using guns here thousands of times there has never been an “accidental” discharge.
  This is truly a sad story and we have no right to add to the grief of any person or family involved – other than to pray for a good recovery for the young lady and for Mr. Zambrana. They both need our prayers – not our criticism and rude comments.

  Sounds like a wonderful idea to me! This world could use many millions more dumb Christians! Have you not heard or read that you must have the faith of a little child! I don’t think that was a metaphor – rather that He was speaking in literal terms when he talked about the faith of a child.
