  @nomnomnom So when Hitler said, directly referring to Christianity, “The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity.”(one of many anti-Christian quotes). The fact that Christian worship the King of the Jews and are instructed to pray for Israel and the Jewish people, while he was dedicated to ‘their’ destruction… When he was rising to power, like many politicians claim for expediency(Hey Obama), he claimed as a populist thing to be a Christian but as his power increased his true beliefs surfaced.

  Atheists like to point to the fact that he was an alter boy when he was child but Darwin was also deeply religious as a young man and turned his back on the faith.

  Reality is atheists have killed more people this century(Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler etc.) than all religions combined… but I have a feeling Islam is fighting hard to catch up.

  @ GER – your view of Jesus isn’t supported in the Bible. Jesus came and fought with the religious leaders of the day, he called them vipers and instigated arguments. His companions traveled armed, he flipped tables in the courtyard and yelled at those disgracing His Father’s house.

  Here Mark Driscoll gives a much better and more accurate description;

  “There is a strong drift toward the hard theological left. some emergent types want to recast Jesus as a limp-wrist hippie in a dress with a lot of product in His hair, who drank decaf and made pithy zen statements about life while shopping for the perfect pair of shoes. In Revelations, Jesus is a prize fighter with a tattoo down His leg, a sword in His hand and the commitment to make someone bleed. That is a guy I can worship. I cannot worship the hippie, diaper, halo Christ because I cannot worship a guy I can beat up. I fear some are becoming more cultural than christian, and without a big Jesus who has authority and hates sin as revealed in the bible, we will have less and less Christians, and more and more confused, spiritually self-righteous blogger critics of Christianity.”

  My understanding is this and he should have clarified… there will be gays in heaven, gays that are repentant and understand that their same-sex desires are a sin.

  We are all sinners, none of us are excluded, and the only thing that prevents entrance is the denial of God and the justification of sin. I am not proud of my; lust, lies, covetousness etc. etc. and know I need forgiveness of these conditions, actions and thoughts.

  Those pretending to be followers of Jesus and condemning ‘those sinners’ need to check themselves quick.
