  Actually, as for trying to raise revenue, that’s kind of iffy to be honest. With court costs, wages, equipment, etc, the amount of money that goes to the issuing agency probably isn’t that much. Some get some grant money for certain tickets issued, but as for a police department running itself on citation money…that just isn’t reality. The taxpayer supplies that money!

  I’m a former officer. It‘s hurts to see other LEO’s misusing the law this way. In short, our purpose in traffic enforcement isn’t to arrest, thump on and fine motorists; it is to gain their compliance with the law and improve their safety. The greater percentage of the desired outcome should be to educate the public. Since the majority of police-citizen contact is through traffic enforcement it should be a primary avenue of improving the relationship. ANY officer doing things like this should be ashamed and realize they are damaging that tenuous relationship!

  Those poor bears! They were just looking for some food! And sounds like they found some, so they could return, over and over and then, one of the greatest land predators could visit this family over and over…and gee, he’s got 6 kids. Like he’d miss anything if one or two were eaten? You just wouldn’t want to watch, because every grizzly attack account I’ve seen makes it seem pretty violent.

  Okay, that was a bit sarcastic. I am truly glad the family is alive. And having been a cop, I can’t tell you how many times drug dealers, rapists, murderers, etc have called in and told police of their crimes just to make it seem like they were innocent…ooops. Sarcasm again.

  If this man is found guilty, it is a travesty of justice. The fact that he was even charged needs to be questioned heavily!

  I am 49. In my time, I have seen many great things and people. The Vietnam war in our living room, the moon landing (real or faked LOL), Ron Reagan, WSU making it to the Rose Bowl…and so very much more. I have worked 27 years as an EMT, a firefighter, and police officer, standing for what is right, protecting those who won‘t or can’t protect themselves. Many people say I am brave, that I have courage. I only hope I have the courage that Glenn has, and that the Israeli people show everyday of their lives!

  Thank you for teaching me, thank you for waking me up, thank you for all you do for us Glenn!
