If protecting liberty and standing against tyranny makes me a ‘cop hater’ then I guess I shouldn’t say anything at all. However, in this country we are guaranteed that our lives, liberty and property cannot be taken from us without due process. Lately, I find police officers acting as police, judge and jury. So it that make me skeptical of their actions then maybe they should be reigned in.

‘Are you telling me that a person has a right to step into the middle of an active police shooting at night, crouch behind cars and point things at the backs of the police while they are still clearing the scene with guns drawn?’

In the video he looks like he’s clearly behind the barricades…

Norden about the abortion things, are you some kind of a nut? We’re not even talking about abortion…

  • @norden

‘but in most of these posts I see nothing more than cop bashing and the spirit of anarchism and vigilantism.’

Yeah, I figured some like you could not get through your undying love of the police to see what is clearly wrong here. You can‘t even admit that a person’s rights were violated. Anyone that exercises their freedom of speech is accused of ‘cop bashing and the spirit of anarchism and vigilantism’ from people like you. What are you a Neo-tory?

‘everyone hates the police until they need help.’

Well, we can get into a whole argument about this, the supreme court has held that the police have no obligation to help anyone. So, we’re up the creek without a paddle. Besides, I don’t have need for kind of help these neanderthals seem to provide. I’ve NEVER had a good experience with the police. Moreover, they always seem to cost me money. So you can set around and love the police until you need them for protection only to find they don’t provide it or you end up worse off when they come.

  • We should lobby our state legislature’s to remove immunity from police officers who do this type of stuff. Facing the reality of loosing a lawsuit in the terms of thousands of dollars personally they will get the message and exercise personal restraint.

  • @norden please stop being a police apologist, you are literally making me ill…

  • @norden you know nothing about me either. I didn’t say YOU sat by, I said ‘people like you’. Whether I should or shouldn’t do something is my propagative.

Now in regards to your statement trying to explaining away wrong actions of police officers was what I was referring to. No, I don‘t agree that ’tactical mode’ give these guys the right to point a loaded gun at a bystander that was doing nothing but exercising their rights. Your statement would lend to giving the police the right to do what they want while ‘in tactical mode’. You even said “expect a gun in your face.”

What I do know from the video (you state you don’t know all of the details), is this officer knew that the citizen had a video camera. The officer was there for one purpose, to destroy evidence at the point of a gun. This officer was a THUG. He wasn‘t there in ’tactical mode‘ to make sure that this person wasn’t a suspect.

I know nothing about you, but if you’re a police officer then you are part of the problem and do civilization a favor and quit your job. And I stand by my statement that people like you made excuses for goons like this while people get gassed.

  • not all of them are idiots like these? just this particular 50 of them on the miami police department. WAKE UP! its all of them…

  • @Norden maybe cops should be more hesitant to use deadly force. our military does it all the time. people like you sat by while people were gassed…

  • @kate Uhm, yes it does mean that all the police are out to get you.

Put any number of officers in a mob type situation when something bad happens and you get brutality, civil rights violations and false reports filed. They circle the wagons to protect their brothers. I know the old “it’s just a few bad apples” but the ‘good apples’ always fall in line to protect the bad ones. I’ve never see evidence to the contrary.

@donttreadonme typical of people like you (probably because he’s black?). I’ve never been arrested but I would have thought of that. He was protecting his property from illegal search and seizure. They already destroyed his property without due process something guaranteed by the constitution.

  • Interesting how a person, that would otherwise be considered a sissy, can get away with treating citizens the way he did. It’s only because he knows that he has government backing and can get away with it. This is why I carry a gun in the US. Some that has not identified themselves was to ever get close enough and strike me would have a bullet in them. I don’t know his intentions or if he has a weapon. We’re headed this way fast…
