  • I would be interested in reading reasons why people on this thread actually prefer Romney, other than he’s the only one who can beat Obama…according to whom??? The Rep establishment and all the Liberals, including the increasing number on FOX, which seems to have dropped “YOU DECIDE” through this primary.
Or Santorum for reasons other than his strong Christian values and he is a good family man, who has himself stated during one of the debates that in many cases he “had to go along to get along.”

Now…here are the reasons that I like Newt.
    I like his wit.
His vast knowledge of American history, and ability to throw out those “teachable moments.” He does not project any desire to rewrite our history…just teach it…the good and the bad. It is fact.
His steadfast admiration for America and faith in the American people to work hard and succeed.
His eidetic mind and ability to use previous events to help analize present day.
No “boo-hoo” no one likes me. Just forges ahead, knowing not everyone has to like him.
Not ashamed of his finances, but wants everyone to have the chance to succeed.
Ability to admit to mistakes in personal life. They are fact and he has the strength to pick up and go on. Hope he gets it right this time.
Able to say some business or political choices were wrong, or foolish. Pelosi/Global Warming.

This last one Romney defends his healthcare to the last. Santorum constantly tells why I did it.
    Now, your turn.

  • Contraception…Have you noticed…Romney,as president, will not get involved in contraception. Santorum can’t quit talking about contraception.

NEWT speaks not about contraception, but FREEDOM OF RELIGION.

  • A moderate Republican for Pres, and a closet Democrat for Veep. Yikes.

  • Actually, I think many on this thread sound like Democrats. There are ways of showing disapproval other than being foul and just plain mean. All of the candidates have pros and cons and the voting people will eventually sort all of this out, and we will have a candidate to support whole heartedly. I will do this as I know the present direction is just wrong.

Newt has more on the plus side than many want to admit. He’s made some errors along the way, but who hasn’t? I think it‘s just dandy that many in Congress don’t care for him. I‘m not convinced that Romney wouldn’t be a bit too progressive and lead us down the same road, only at a slower pace. Santorum is a fine person, but the “go along to get along” bothers me.

  • Hooray for Sen Inhofe, a man brave enough to buck the politically correct machine.!

  • My, what classy ways of expressing your dislike for Gingrich.

Personally, I like the way he is so comfortable with himself. Not only could he “take it to” Obama, but also he would be terrific in foreign negotiations, speaking and dealing with a divided Congress, and talking directly to a population of people who need to take pride in themselves and their country and get to work rather than asking for more free stuff. When there are only a little more than HALF of the population paying taxes THIS CANNOT GO ON!

Many in Congress didn‘t care for him before because he didn’t always go along to get along. I believe he could handle the job quite well.

  • And, who has the nerve and voice to point out this bigotry?? NEWT.
If I were voting next Tuesday I would have to choose Newt Gingrich. First, I like him because he is so comfortable with himself. On the whole he presents himself as a calm, firm, deep thinking individual.

Newt’s ability to debate….everyone agrees that he would be great against Obama. Well, yes, I agree with that, and I also take that further. He will be able to debate those in Congress, change their minds, and speak with authority and conviction to foreign country leaders. He can make sense talking directly to the people. I don’t care what he had for breakfast, I want solutions. And, finally, I think he could be inspirational to the American people and get them moving again in the right direction with pride and determination to be the best that they can be instead of listless zombies standing around with their hands out for a freebie..

  • I find it incredible and sad that there are no comments on this subject by now. Are people of faith going to allow themselves to become irrelevant? Look what happened during WWII when people of faith continued to believe that everything would be alright. You all better stand up in your churches and on the street, and be counted as people who will not allow their religious freedoms and rights to be dictated by this administration.

  • Which candidate really qualifies as part of the Establishment?? All a person really has to do is look at who is endorsing who. Who is carrying the water for Romney…the vast majority of the media, Bob Dole, John McCain, Megyn McCain (claimed she would “slit her wrists if her Dad endorsed anyone else), Charlie Crist, Billie Crystal, Brit Hume and many other left leaning Republicans.

Now look at those endorsing Newt. Rick Perry, Herman Cain, many Tea Party leaders, NO MEDIA.

I’ve really been disgusted with FOX lately. They are so obviously in the tank for Romney that it is sickening. I have not heard the “YOU DECIDE” for a long time…Just “WE REPORT.” They are becoming for the right wing Establishment exactly what the other networks have always been for the left wing Establishment. Not good. GBTV needs to be careful that they don’t also try to cram a candidate down our throats. Let us listen and make our own decisions for our own reasons.

  • Rush has more common sense than most on this site.
