  • @ Science is not evil, Please explain to us all how something came from nothing because whether or not you believe in God or are a strictly scientific mind, you believe that at some point, something sprung from nothing. Whether that something is God, the first life form, or matter itself, there is always a point when something springs from nothing in both arguments. So try not to sound so high and mighty about your beliefs because some day some where, someone will prove you wrong. And the same goes to creationists and bible thumpers.

It is obvious to me that JZS was trying to sound like a moron through a tool we know as sarcasm just to elicit a response from everyone. And we can see it worked.

  • What I find funny about the big bang is how so many people ignorantly excuse the fact that the verse is infinitely large and that “the big bang” is one of many, not the only one. Unless you imagine ourselves as living inside of a glass aquarium, then you should realize that space is endless and goes on forever. Now, that said, there should be more than one “universe” if only consider our universe what we can observe and what was originally ejected from our big bang.

I guess what I am trying to say is that even the “scientific” guys underestimate the vastness of our reality and are limited to a narrow view of the world. Just like the creationists that they argue. Personally, I believe that a God does exist and I base this off of the fact that I cannot possibly fathom how elements and molecules can transform from an inanimate mass into a sentient life like a human being. The thought that this could happen without a higher power is almost akin to philosophers thinking that frogs used to spring from rocks. I don’t believe in something from nothing basically.

But mind you, I seriously doubt that any religion on this earth has it even close to right.

  • Sorry, I should have subtracted that 273.15 from 600,000 to go from Kelvin to Celsius. So the number should be (600,000 – 273.15 =) 599726.85.

  • Okay people, apparently my fellow “Blazers” are ignorant of the Kelvin system. Let me explain. Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 0 degrees on the Celsius scale. At 32 Fahrenheit and 0 Celsius, the temperature in Kelvin is 273.15 (not degrees though, just 273.15). At absolute zero, the temperature in Kelvin would be zero. You see, the Kelvin system is a shifting of the Celsius system so that instead of ice formation at sea level being the standard for 0, absolute zero is the standard for zero.

So when they said the corona of the sun is 600,000 Kelvin, it would be 600,273.15 Celsius or more than a million degrees Fahrenheit. Not just above freezing.

  • I’m pretty sure that this is more along the lines of “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?” territory. But seriously, you do know that air is made up of gases right? The sun is a huge mass of gas, plasma, and maybe some liquid at the core under all that pressure. That said, sound waves travel through all matter so it wouldn’t matter if the sun were solid. It would still make sounds when masses were driven together and vibrated.

  • I’m still reminded of the recent school fire that happened in Saudi Arabia. During that tragic event, children, little girls, were turned back into the fire by the so called religious police because they were not “appropriately covered”. Apparently it is better in their eyes for a child to suffer being burnt alive than to possibly go a few minutes without their hair covered in public. The nation of Saudi Arabia is sick and brutal. I hope that the individuals who live there continue to strive for Liberty as we continue to seek it here as well.

  • You forgot the Arizona tea and that all the kids get to start a fight with an adult whose skin is more pale than theirs.

  • That is what happens when you have a person who tells the professional that their harness is on too tight because it pinches them a little bit. If you are an old lady, I can surely appreciate that you have the guts to go skydive, but please don‘t be such a ninny when they are tightening up the straps and don’t think that you’re getting it tight enough on your own. But, good job for hanging on old gal! That had to be scary no matter who you are. Except maybe for the guy who skydives holding a parachute pack instead of wearing it. That guy is insane!

  • The GOP should die because it is a disease infested beast that continues to grow our government out of proportion just like the Democrat party does. I hope it falls and is replaced swiftly by a true Libertarian party.

  • I like the “lesser of two wifebeaters” analogy. It‘s something I’ve been trying to get through to people for a while now.
