Nano-Drone Swarm Shows Off Slightly Creepy Formation Skills
February 2, 2012 at 10:53am
Really, come on folks, these flights are specific pre-programmed patterns. You give them too much credit. It still takes someone to tell them where to go and they all have to go as one unit. I guess they figure they will have alot of attrition and will need a large group for even one drone to be successfull. They will have no use in wind, rain, snow, sand storm or any other kind of typical battlefield bad weather situation. Fun for a little kid but not much practical use.
Bulldog Survives Scary, Wild Ride After Leash Gets Caught in Elevator
January 26, 2012 at 10:58am
Ok folks I own a large dog and when she gets distracted by another dog or person she can be a little tough to get going in the direction I want. It is obvious from the hall video that the lady distracted the dog, that the leash was taught as the owner tried to get the dog into the elevator and although you cannot see his face, obviously the owner was talking to his dog. Since the owner got onto the elevator before the lady entered the hallway he did not realize the extent of the dogs distraction. I believe he thought the leash in the door would cause it to reopen and when it did not that is when he got frantic. If I were doing a video for utube I certainly would not leave the leash around my wrist which is why his wrist got broken. I am sure next time he will be more careful.
Stunning Video: Bystanders Lift Car Off Victim After Calif. Highway Crash

Not sure what credit to give these folks other than there willingness to assist. If you notice in the Video a CHP officer is coordinating the event. That means that person was under that vehicle for quite a while until the officer got there and got people to help move the truck. Still in a sue happy country it was nice that they assisted the officer. Hope those who survived are doing well.
‘60 Minutes’ Airs Heart-Wrenching Up-Close Look at the Day-to-Day Lives of Homeless American Children

When I was 10 years old in 1967 my family, all ten of us spent six weeks living out of an old ford station wagon going from state park to state park while my dad looked for work. The kids ranged from 14 to 6 months old. It was tough and food was short but we managed and it certainly built a lot of character for all of us. Later we tried splitting the family up and farming the kids out for about a month but that was much worse than all of us struggling together and so my parents gathered us all back up and kept moving forward. Eventually work was found and a more normal life resumed but not a single family get together goes by without a fond memory about some event on the “trip” as we called it. All that, to say the Lord has promised to meet our needs not necessarily our wants.
Mongolia Making Homemade Glaciers to Fight…Global Warming

Well a 23 foot thick block of ice will take more than a week to melt but some farmer is sure to be ticked when he doesn’t get his spring/summer water due to an ice barrier up stream and I am sure the fisherman will be thrilled to have to wait and extra month to go fishing. Remember the law of unintended consequences. Why not just pump the river water to a low area in the winter let it freeze and then reclaim the water as it melts??
Should Gabby Giffords Step Down? ‘The Five’s’ Eric Bolling Thinks it Might Be Time
November 16, 2011 at 11:03am
Well since only the House of Rep’s has the authority to remove her from office, all the discussion is moot but here goes anyway. Since when did having a physical disability preclude someone from serving in Congress?? If she can think clearly and express her thoughts through written correspondence, who cares what she sounds or looks like! If she decides to stay in office and the Az voters don’t approve of the results they can vote her out because the House will never do it.
The State Can ‘Seize Control’ and ‘There Is Nothing I Can Do’: Glenn Weighs in on Nov. 9th Emergency Broadcast Test

Hey all, they already are controlling the air waves in a disaster. My wife works for the local city government and has a special code she dials into her cell phone to access the towers while everyone else is getting the no signal or busy signal. They are doing it in agreement with the cell phone providers. By the way are military has the capability to jam any and all frequencies within a given area if they choose. Since Pres Obama wants a civilian force with just as much fire power as our military, maybe he is gathering and testing some of the equipment needed. But that gives him too much credit. Probably some low level nitwit came up with the idea to test the whole system and nobody in the Pres‘ staff or upper management has enough sense to say hey that’s not such a good idea. Sometimes I think we apply sinister motives when incompetence is the more likely reality.

Double-Murder Charges Dismissed Under FL ‘Stand Your Ground’ Self-Defense Law

I am told police use the 21 foot rule. That is if the assailant is closer than 21 feet they can get to you before you can get your weapon out of its holster so you better get it out ealier than later. If I was alone on a boat with two intoxicated guys bent on beating me and tossing me overboard, I would have pulled the trigger too.
