  LTC Davis was responsible for providing new equipment, kit, and technology to Soldiers rapidly (Rapid Equipping Force REF) in Afghanistan. I interacted with him weekly and butted heads several times on the support he was providing to Soldiers engaged in combat who needed what the REF could provide, and weren’t getting. The military industrial complex is in full swing and the bean counters, ATEC safety rules, and politicians have hamstrung Commanders who need them to get out of the way Try to understand that Afghans don’t want what we are selling. They are tribal in everything they do and life is a daily struggle for survival. They don’t care who is in charge of them. Yes, they are corrupt…that’s their culture. 80% surveyed have no idea what 9-11 is or why we’re there. There have indeed been failures but LTC Davis is an O-5 never going higher who is a “disgruntled employee”. I‘ve also served multiple tours over 28 years and LTC Davis doesn’t appear to understand the damage to morale a report like this can have, especially coming from his level. The difference is I have respect for myself, fellow Soldiers, and Commanders given a difficult task by politicians who won’t get the hell out of the way and let us get down to the business of war…..

  This guy needs immediate help from a shrink. He has serious issues and should be in a mental institution.This type of activity is probably going on all over the country and he should be charged with fraud!

SInce I know what’s involved first hand, I expect not to ever see you. They thing about not having a security clearance is you never really know what goes on in the military….too bad…

  every person standing there doing nothing should be ashamed of themselves. People don‘t even know how to act this way where I’m from. Shootings happen everywhere, but the behavior afterwards would never happen in small town middle America. People in the big cities all across this nation are desensitized to what it really means to live in a community. This kid could have probably been saved if any one of those bystanders was looking anywhere but out their belly button.

  Nice letter, but while I was in Iraq and Afghanistan, I never worried about a man on man warrior battle. It was always the suicide child bomber or IED. Islam will never defeat the people of the west because they won’t actually fight us. The politicians may grovel to the PC crap but not those of us who make a living defending and protecting this country. .

  I’m afraid this is just the first small step of a larger battle looming in the future. Republicans won most of the states in the 2010 election, and the Democrats (sore losers) have no intention of turning over the gains of the last 30 years. We are in a fight to the death for our American way of life. It’s only a matter of time before a group plants some real thugs at these events to start the violence, and the Tea Party will get the blame. Be careful abd watch your backs.

  I spent the last decade fighting the followers of Islam and have a very clear perspective of what they want for all things “western”. All it takes is for you to do a little research on your own (you do read?) and the truth is very easy to find about what groups like the Muslim Brotherhood intend for all of us infidels. Google the Team B report to start with. Jerry Boykin lead the group who came up with it and I’ve know him for 25 years. You don’t become a 3 Star General in the US Army without a little bit of intelligence, and his perspective is based on actual experience, not some blow hard like Matthews.
