  What part of NY was he in? Keep in mind that he was talking to complete trash with gang ties. The man arrested later that evening has 20 prior arrests by the young age of 21. If this officer would have talked to them without confidence and said please and thank you in a quiet sissy voice, he would probably be drug around the corner and been raped and beaten. Maybe not that day but at some point I guarantee he would have been taken advantage of. And to add NEVER taken seriously by these guys. Now if he would have acted this way around a bunch of female seniors at a church bake sale, my opinion would probably be different.

  It was a LEGAL hit. This should not be in the news. It was stated that there was NO flag on the play. How many deaths per year happen because of this? 5 to 10? More – less? Football is no different than any other sport. Even non contact sports. How many die from rock climbing, skydiving, mountain biking or something similar? I play semi-pro football. The idea that wearing the new style helmets offer a false sense of security is obsurd. I have a brand new Schutt helmet with air pads. Even with a top of the line helmet it still hurts to hit with your head. It is horrible that this young man passed away doing something that he loved, but do not blame the sport. I understand there is a increased risk for injury in a contact sport, but it is just that. A contact sport. He volunteered to play just as the rest of us have. DO NOT blame the sport, the color of the players, education of the players, strength of the players, the era of the sport, the protective gear worn, the government or whatever other lame excuse to put blame on someone. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!

  This is simple. Public school should be a place to learn math, reading, writing, history, phys ed, how to balance a checkbook, how to buy a house, and how to prepare to be self sufficiant. Learning material should not be based on Christianity, Mormanism, Atheism, And whatever other ISM you put there. If you want your children raised with christian values, and the bible to be taught in class enroll your child in a private christian shcool or home school. That goes for all of the others as well. As a parent and a christian, the school is resonsible for educating, im responsible for everthing else. It makes me sick that I have to constantly check up on what my child is being taught in public shools. Science books that teach darwinism, sex ed that now starts in the 6th grade that teaches exploring who you are and that there are other options, and history classes that do not teach history. This is pathetic.

  It was a newspaper article! It was the authors thoughts! If you dont like what he had to say dont read it! It was not being taught in class! ( although exploring other options “being gay” or “finding your true self” is being taught in class. If an athiest wrote an article on how we come from trees or a homosexual wrote about the joys of having two moms was published it would go unoticed. This is pathetic. I am sick and tired of everone being offended about something. Grow up! He was not picking on one person in particular just sharing his view on things. Leave the kid alone. The point of the paper is to learn journalism and the process of writing a story. You will never be able to please everyone.

  I think that gay marriage should not be in the church. Period. Civil union or whatever you want to call it, no problem. No matter how you chose to live your life, you should have the same rights as others. I am not for gay marriage and I think that homosexuality is wrong, and as a christian believe that it is a sin. Not right to do that in church. Go to the courthouse.
