  • Freedom of speach does not mean freedom from responsibility for your actions. It is his right to express himself as long as it does not infringe on someone else’s life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness. The idea is to think before you act. He obviously has not learned from his actions last year and should be held accountable for those lost due to those actions. He still had the freedom to do it.

  • You can have that break whenever you want it. I will get mine next year when I return from Afghanistan. Let me know how your genocide plan turns out to fight a religion. Ohh wait, I will see it first hand hours after you attempt something idiotic like this preacher. Its easy to sit back and cheer on this guy when you have no idea what its like on the ground after this.

  • Only Americans without a sense of patience will blame the coach, or the Generals. You forget that we have the job of teaching modern military tactics to a society that is 5000 years behind us. Guess what? That takes time and it takes patence. It also takes support from our home country in every way possible. To include, not inciting riots in the same area that your Soldiers are in. So my anger towards this issue is not misdirected. Maybe instead of using a sports analogy to describe Soldiers in combat, you could actually think about all the events that happen to our Soldiers everyday over here. We can’t all live and work in the land of sunshine and lollypops. There are serious consequences here.

  • He sacrificed more Soldiers with this burning. Not only do soldiers have to watch for enemies within the civilian population, now we will have enemies within our formations waiting for a great time to take revenge for this idiot. He put his freedom of speech over the lives of servicemembers serving in Afghanistan. If one service member dies from this, he should be held accountable. If anyone has loved ones stationed in Afghanistan, you should be actively speaking out against this man and his actions. The rest of the “this was a great idea crowd”, can sit down, shut up, and look the other way as you have for the past 11 years.

  • Ohh lets see! It can get worse by having Afghan police and soldiers who patrol side by side with us every day now feel the urge to shoot us in the backs. Umm…we begin to have riots which will prolong our stay while you sit on your couch and armchair quarteback the whole thing. Thanks for your opinion, but it WILL make it worse over here. I wish everyone would think before they post. You may be upset about it, but that does not make great foriegn policy.

  • Why would it be a dumb idea to have a drone over an objective area searching for possible suicide bomber to come up on a patrol. Sure you can have a drone kill the guy and detonate the device, but what if the target is too close in proximity to the patrol to use lethal means. Additionally, why would we waste time on killing a low level peon, when we can get the information on the bigger fish. You are not in the fight and I do not expect you would understand.

  • I guess being an armchair quarterback has given you the insight into counter insurgency. Since you are so enlightened in the arts, could you please give me some insight. Would it be smarter to participate in genocide?

  • I am a current Soldier deployed to AFG. I would like to thank you for your unwaivering support.

  • I am done with this crowd. Thanks for the vote of confidence in the US Armed Forces. I cannot get past all the paranoid mess that you have posted for this story. I am currenly deployed to AFG and think it would be a great asset to have. Once again, thanks for believing in your Soldiers.
