  • Guess Will is learning about this great European society that Obama wants to turn the US into so badly.

  • yeah, look, I hate this “he’s a conservative“ ”he’s a liberal” crap… everyone keeps trying to use those labels as all encompassing, and they aren’t.

he may be a social liberal, sure, but he’s a fiscal conservative it sounds like to me.

I find most of the people I talk to are, in fact, so calling someone a conservative on financial things, when he considers himself a liberal, we’re not looking at the same thing.

As for the hollywood types, they are without a doubt, mostly social liberal. Got no problem with that, don’t see where the federal government should be getting in the middle of social liberal/conservative stuff anyways, leave that on the state level where it belongs, so we can decide for ourselves, closer to home, just how liberal or conservative we want to live in our areas.

I’m fiscally conservative, but if I accept the ‘conservative’ label, then I also have to accept all of the evangelical ******** that comes with it in the Rep party, which I find unacceptable. Same thing with the Dems. I’m socially liberal, but if I accept the ‘liberal’ label, then I also have to accept all of the big gov’t nanny statism micro-managing progressivism that comes with it in the Dem party, which I find just as unacceptable.

With all the conversations I’ve had all over the country (truck driver), most of the people seem to be Libertarian like me, but are too brainwashed by the Dems/Reps to consider the possibility.

  • @okienoodlerfan

Sooo… basically… you were raised as a conservative while at the same time, being labelled, and told, that you were a Democrat/liberal?

  • um, yeah… we need to do all the stuff out of goodwill… as groups… and when we get stuff, we need to trade it for something of value to the other person…

we call it money, we call it capitalism, we call it business…

not quite sure what they call it…

  • Just what would give the HOA power over me anyways?

Say I buy a house somewhere, how do I end up falling under the jurisdiction of a HOA?

Do they have some kind of governmental power?
Isn’t this a contract I have to willingly enter into with them, separately from my purchase of the land/home?

Sounds like it might as well be a gated community.

If I’m spending a lot of money to buy my own land and my own home, what the hell gives them any right to tell me how to live on my property?

  • Well, if he needed help to pay for the rent, in an apartment that was rent-controlled, then, perhaps… that’s because… .. .

. .. …the rent was too damn high?

  • You obviously have no clue what a Libertarian is…

  • Seriously?

Are you guys so far gone in the head, you just have to make a completely non-political story, political?

    What’s wrong with you people…

  • That as actually damned nice of Rush to give that kid so much time during his show to help him out like that.

It actually turned out to be a pretty interesting segment.

  • “Dude, get over it” is exactly how this crap continues to grow and get worse.

Everyone has to pick their battle that they feel passionate about, and this is his, and I’m behind him on it.

The reasons you stated for him to get over it, are exactly the things that need to be fought.

The world never, EVER, changed for the better, because of the “dude, get over it” types… it was always because of “the world is what you make it” types.

    Grow up, coward.
