  • the Jeffersonian,
You mentioned Muslims praying as if it were a hypothetical. In fact, they are already given space in (some, maybe even many) public schools, during the school day, to pray, at least during Ramadan, if not at all times for those who choose. So then, if that is already the case, why not allow other students to pray?
The idea of disallowing a church to meet in a (unused on weekends) public school building for prayer and services is ludicrous. What are they afraid of? It might “rub off” and make them Christian? It doesn’t work that way. If any other business – and probably other than CHRISTIAN religious organization – wanted to rent the space on a Sunday, I can’t see as they would be denied. It’s money in their pockets. They’ve been doing it for years. NOW it becomes a matter of separation of church and state? Ridiculous!

  • Muslim children are already given space in public schools to pray during Ramadan (and other times?) DURING school hours. So is that not a church vs. state conflict? But when churches want to pay to use the facilities when NO children (hence: no conflict ) are present, the state puts up a STINK! Unreal!

  • I don’t know anything about football and have only recently heard of Tim Tebow. But what I have heard of him, I am proud of, as I know his Heavenly Father is even more. He’s not doing what he does for the praise of men but to let them know who is really in charge and to give Jesus the glory. There will always be people like Press who are afraid of and put off by TRUTH (Jn. 14:6) and the FACT that they will one day be standing before Jesus as their JUDGE, like it or not.
I agree that Christians need to stand up for what we believe and make Jesus known in the public arena – and Tim is doing an awesome job of that, but I also have a problem with some “Christians” here who use the world’s (and Press’s) own language and insults against him. We must remember what Paul says about Spiritual Warfare! We do NOT fight as the world does. We need to PRAY for people like Press who are willingly ignorant. Jesus told us to pray for our enemies, and Stephen, as he was being stoned to death, prayed that God not hold it against them (because of their spiritual blindness and ignorance). Let’s be sure to follow the right examples here in order not to come across as rude and tacky as Press does. Would Jesus want us to talk like they do? I think we need to be careful and pray before responding. Otherwise, we’re no different than they are.

  • Unfortunately, there is nothing HOLY in this ad! It’s just another way to disrespect Christians and desensitize people to putting down Christianity as we already see it happening all over the world.

  • It’s BEEN Muslims for a long time; they’re just getting bolder – thanks to political correctness. They demand – and TEACH – “Sensitivity” to their ways but give others no such sensitivity (like in the case of the Mosque and “Community Center” at Ground Zero!). The more we go out of our way to give in to them, the more they see us as weak and disrespect us. They use those who stand with them for their “freedom’s sake” and later (history proves) those “useful idiots” are first in line to be beheaded (such as homosexuals, Marxists, etc.). We need to wake up before it’s too late!

  • Once again they are using their favorite tactics – “Poor Muslim victims of discrimination” and using America’s PC attitudes and freedoms to ELIMINATE our freedoms! We need to seriously PRAY because they will INFILTRATE ALL our churches and Christian organizations, turning them on their ear under the banner of “religious freedom,” yet, as always, only one way.

  • Other countries have banned Muslim terrorist organizations but ours – because of stupid notions like Political Correctness – and our Muslim-sympathizing president – is in bed with them. We need to get him out of office first of all, before he destroys this country completely!

  • Whoa – I hate to see how he punishes students for saying “Merry Christmas”! Seriously, I’d like to see his awesome class as a teacher; doesn’t he have worse behaviors to deal with than people wishing each other well (what “God bless you” has become, since no one believes in the reason it was originally said)? He‘s really punishing them for using God’s name, I’m sure. To make a big deal and call 3 words “disruptive” and “wasting class time” is just a ludicrous excuse. Just teach and stop wasting student’s freedoms of speech. I‘ll bet he doesn’t dock grades for their use of truly foul language. But just don’t say “God” or you’ll fail. That’s the bottom line and should be dealt with by either talking to the principal or school board.

  • And I’ll bet you the teacher gets fired or reprimanded/suspended for doing so – unless it’s in the south – maybe.

  • Michael Moore Jokes Jesus Was Gay

    In reply to AmericanBorn.

Why do we even give this individual the time of day? And you are right, why would a Catholic institution invite him to speak? And then be surprised and horrified by what he says? Not too bright. I’ve been a special ed. teacher and when you have kids you know are just doing bizarre things (or saying them) for attention, you DON’T give it to them. I think this nation need to learn that. Sure, sometimes we need to take a stand (as in the case of Islam trying to take over the world or something like that). But people like Moore? Not worth responding. Just refuse to watch and listen to his nonsense. Just say NO.
