  • “‘…The song was chosen because its rhythms and other qualities would provide an opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition, not because of its religious message or lyrics,’ Kirtland told FoxNews in an email.”

IMO – I believe this to be yet another indirect, albeit purposeful attempt to soften us and tear down our resistance to the Muslim faith, in the disguise of being an “opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition…” Sounds like a very weak defense. How many other songs, not praising Allah and/or the Muslim faith, were there to choose from that could have just as easily shown off the musical talents of these kids?

  • Thank you, Lowes. I hope ALL sponsors pull their advertising from that show, and that the show is yanked from the air… permanently. It is nothing more than propaganda/brainwashing, and I refuse to ever watch it. Try as they may, acceptance will never be forced on me… even under the guise of a “reality TV show”. Nice try.

  • Maybe it’s time for OCH… Occupy Capital Hill… That’s where all the blame, frustration and anger really need to be directed. Perhaps just OC… Occupy Congress.

  • @IslandMama – I agree that the lack of jobs has some play in the selling of homes, however, I think the biggest problem is the surplus of homes and the fact that there are more people looking for inexpensive cash sales for investment purposes right now, rather than the more expensive homes that would require going through a bank for a loan. That is, at least, what I’m seeing here in Atlanta. Then, there’s the dramatic devaluation of many homes. Take, for instance, my place. I live in a small condo, just outside the perimeter of Atlanta. I bought my place for $129k (eight years ago), and it is now valued at $35k… the price of a new car! I’ve lost nearly $100k worth of value, which means I’m underwater… drowning, really,… can’t sell my place without a huge personal loss, can’t refinance (banks won’t touch me) and can’t rent due to a waiting list to be able to put my on the rental market. Overall, this housing market thing sucks. At this point, I’ve been tempted to just walk away from my place….

  • Although he has some good ideas, Ron Paul is largely a dreamer. In addition to that, he stumbles over many of his answers. Nothing against him, but I think his age is really showing and I, personally, don‘t want this country led by someone who looks as if he’s seen his best days about 20 years ago. We need someone who is strong, both in mind and body. Someone who can think quick and react even faster, but someone who has the common sense and intelligence to get the job done. We need someone who’s not going to flip on his/her answers and viewpoints just to appease the greater masses. We need a rock steady President who will take this Country by the reigns and guide her back onto the right path again, both domestically and internationally… For me, Ron Paul is definitely not that candidate. I’ll keep watching these debates, and continue with my own research of the candidates. I will not vote uninformed… and you shouldn’t either.

  • @TXPILOT

First, my sincere thanks to you for your service. I also served proudly and, like you, feel exactly the same way. I am ashamed and embarrassed over what is happening to the Country people such as you and I served for. The years of defending our values, our freedoms and the American way… all for… what? This? I‘d be willing to bet there aren’t very many within the ranks of these flea baggers who ever saw a single day in the military, let alone have any appreciation for our Country or anything that we put our lives on the line for…

  • @JEFFERSON – You wrote…

“In the same vein, why would you see protesters that are supposedly against “giant corporate greed” wear “Nike” shoes? Nike is seen as one of the most ardent violators of human rights, and child labor in the world.”

Now, seriously, think about it… The Flea Bags protesting the big corporations, and the banks, et al… do you think it really strange that this guy would be a protestor AND be wearing the Nike shoes? If you do, why? They had to get to the site of the protests… which means they drove cars, fueled by gas… both products of big corporations. Presumably, they all carry around cell phones, most likely iPhones or some other “smart” phone device… all of which are products of big corporations. How many are feeding their faces with food, drinks from chain restaurants? How many are out there using laptops? How many are using wifi/broadband service to upload photos of their amazing “triumph over big corporations”? Think about the debit/credit cards they’re most likely using to keep themselves fed, clothed, etc… So,… UNTIL they all strip down to nothing, give up eating, and give up their modern day communication devices, cameras, video cameras,… you name it,… they’re benefiting from “big corporations” and banks. So, please… don’t give us the crap about the Nikes. These are a bunch of Sheeple who are out there blindly following others, without a REAL reason or understanding about what they’re protesting in t

  • Ruuuuuuuuuuuunnnn, George, rrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnn… (what an idiot)

  • I would like to know where this McDonalds is located. I’d also encourage everyone to email/blog/tweet/facebook/call McDonalds and let them know your feelings on this. Go directly to the corporate HQ and be heard. If enough people contact McDonalds about this, maybe they will get off their fat, greasy arses and respond appropriately. I’d also like to know the condition of the woman, and the status on apprehending the employees, the manager, the videographer and the two animals that beat this woman into a seizure…
