  • I was driving up highway 99 heading north and driving through the Lodi area on Friday the 20th at about 10:30 PM when I saw a huge fireball travelling south to north fall from the sky with sparks flying off it as it changed from bright white ot a cool green before buring out. It was cool. News? Perhaps not but it’s better than listening to lying politicians, degenerate hate filled bigots, violent revenge filled miscreants who want to kill someone based on their own biases. It’s cool, glad to hear the story about an even bigger one only a few nights later and a few more miles north.

    In reply to Ralpie.

Ralphie, the problem you face is daunting, I agree. Trying to prove that something that you have never witnessed, experienced, understood or seen doesn’t exist is a tough one when you are speaking to those who have witnessed, experienced, understood and seen what God has done in the lives of others. It‘s like I’m standing on the corner of Main and 1st street and I‘m on the phone with you and you’re telling me that intersection doesn’t exist. You just aren’t looking in the right place or using the right tools. If you read the road map (bible) and follow it’s directions, you’ll find it.
But you really have to want to find it, make an effort to follow the instructions, live in faith and then ask and I promise you, you too will see what I am talking about. Mt. 7: 8-11

    In reply to Philburt.

@Encinom, Your opinion is based on bad theology. Matthew 15:11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man

Your assertion that shell fish and bacon are against God’s Law is just ignorant. Likewise, the mixed fabric clothing etc. are not laws that man is bound by under Jesus Christ.

You see, in order for anyone to speak about what the Bible actually says, they need to 1. study the words within and 2. Have the Holy Spirit to discern it’s wisdom. You seem to be lacking both, your opinion carries no weight.

  • Luke21, nicely done. Here is another angle. Ms. Rice calimed to be a believer yet she made her wealth by glorifying the darkness and not the light. Faith without works is dead…If a person is a true believer their actions would follow their beliefs. How could a person write such evil while claiming to be a Christian? Ms. Rice is decieved and her life is a sorry example of that deception. What profits a man (or woman) if he gains the world but loses their soul? That is the qestion that Ms. Rice should consider when cashing the checks from her book royalties.

  • Gambling in Casablanca? I’m shocked!

  • Orange you giving him too much credit?

  • Press says these things because he is a faux-intellectual who relies on shock talk rather than cogent argument to make his point. Press is in the smallest segment of society known to man, a liberal talk show host with a job. He has to pander to his extreme left emoton based audience to keep his show on the air. Logic and common sense would end his show and destroy his career.

  • Well said.

  • Deavonreye “As for my knowledge, I spent nearly 30 years in the church and have read the bible thoroughly”

Shame that you didn’t seem to absorb much of it.

Deavonreye “However, it is HIGHLY immoral to punish people for a THOUGHT crime.”

It isn‘t a crime and it isn’t thought crime. It’s an issue of being in sin and denying your creator or being forgiven your sin and living for the creator. It’s about action not an intellectual idea. We know this because “even the demons believe and tremble”. So it isn’t about thoughts, it’s about being and action.

Deavonreye “That is the only difference between me and you. I may even be more ethical than you!”

By human measures you may be, I don’t know, I am not your judge. Judging from my own past, it is quite possible.

Deavonreye “But if my lack of belief damns me [once again, going under the argument that YOUR specific god is real], then at least I will be able to stand with my honor in tact.”

Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. When you are on your knee confessing Jesus, let me know how in tact your honor is. Honor…that’s actually amusing to me. Compared to the Holyness of God you (we) have no honor.

  • Deavonray “unbelievers” into second class citizens who “deserve what’s coming to them”.

NO, not second class citizens. I would never consider an unbeliever less than a person or less than a citizen to be treated differently than myself. That is a smoke screen that you use in a PC kind of way to distort the truth.

The second part of your statement is the truth. “deserve what’s coming to them” You betcha! But to make it easier for you to understand, we are ALL going to hell until we aren’t. We ALL have what’s coming to us in judgment and all are guilty of sin. Those however who believe (not intellectually but spiritually and through their actions) in Jesus Christ will be spared by His grace not by our actions or deeds.

Most people who are unbelievers and sadly many believers as well have very little knowlege about what it is that they are against or for because they never took an earnest individual look at scripture and studied it for it’s content. A mere cursory look will net you nothing but distortion and confusion and atheists are not alone in their ignorance, many Christians are equally as ignorant.
