  • Being a good person is a personal choice. Doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not. I know a very nice atheist. I also know a few atheists that are complete @holes. I also know some Christians that are wonderful people, and I know some Christians who are complete @holes.

Faith? No Faith? Doesn’t matter. It’s a personal choice about how you choose to conduct yourself, and who you choose to be.

    Case closed.

The problem, or rather the offense of this ordeal is not what this guy believes. The offense is that he used a lot of vulgarity and hate speech to convey his beliefs. What makes the event ever more egregious is that he did it as a speaker in a venue that was DEDICATED to the exact opposite of what he was doing!

That is the core. That is what the conversation is about. Now as rational human beings, (I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here) I think you should be able to agree on this core issue of conduct. What he believes is not inappropriate, it’s how he conveyed his beliefs that was inappropriate. Correct?

Rather than just say this however, you guys are doing exactly what you accuse everyone else here of doing. You’re ranting, hating, insulting, attacking, belittling and deflecting from the core issue and derailing the topic down some rabbit hole. So you are showing everyone here that you are the exact same person they are. The only difference is you just live across the street, in a different house of cards.

    Amusing

  • at least when we loose we can have a free conscience knowing that we didn’t hurt anybody.

  • @ Abraham Young: I have read the book of Mormon. There are some nice things said in there. However as you apply hermeneutics to text and compare its theology to the theology of the bible you quickly discover significant variances and some down right contradictions to what the bible teaches. The Jesus Christ of the Mormon faith, is a different version of the Jesus from the Bible. Do I hate Mormons? Nope they are great people. I do not classify Mormons as Christians, I classify them as Mormons, and I do not think that is a bad thing.

  • I would say God prefers kind atheists over hateful ATHEISTS.

Now about the hateful Christians here?
I haven’t really seen that here. What I have seen are Christians who have the attitude of “I’m tired of being silent, I’m tired of being pushed around, I’m tired of being told to shut up”.
Now to many leftists this comes across as being hateful… or the current over used buzz word “vitriolic”. However a leftist can call names, impugn character, malign and flat out lie about people, situations or history with a clear conscience and nobody calling for accountability. We all know this. Even you know this. Which is why so many of us no longer care what you have to say, or what you think about us.

  • Very well said sir. I think that is the heart of the conservatives viewpoint on science. “We don’t distrust or deny science, we distrust those who claim to be scientists”

Conservative think tanks and Fox are not to blame for our distrust of science and the article claims. Our distrust is from 50 years of exposed bogus scientific claims. Everything from Cholesterol, the rain forests, global cooling, global warming, red meat, fish, red wine, cheese, eggs and all the way to bottled water…. *gasp for breath*… all of these things have either been debunked or turned 180 degrees from what they said about it 10 years ago. As if we wouldn’t notice or remember.

Science has become the search for what ever fact is receiving funding… not truth.

Ummmm what are you ranting about? I haven’t seen anyone applauding this event, or even the war. Nobody here is happy about the trillions wasted over there. Are you sure you are posting in the right thread? The guy talkin about the Geneva convention was clearly stating that when one side abides by such rules, and the other doesn’t, the one side is fighting with a hand tied behind the back. So you fly off the handle about WWII history as though that is what he was talking about. Huh? He’s not talking about +60 years ago, he’s talking about the here and now. I mean you sound like you have some level of education but you are so clouded with hate and venom that you #1 cant generate a concise point or argument, and #2 expose yourself as being cut from the same cloth as you blast others for being.

Just step away from your keyboard, and go have a nice cup of warm milk or camomile tea.

  • Art of War – choose your battlefield

We do not know really anything. We have no idea what Rush was hit with, or threatened with. He is smart. I believe he surveyed the field and saw that there was no possibility of victory. He had all the information, we don’t. I believe he made the decision HE thought was best.

  • @ All you Libs

How is what Rush said hateful? You have a woman who goes before CONGRESS, and shamelessly throws out bogus numbers and stats on the cost of birth control as if nobody would ever double check her figures. She also asks that the Federal Government… who gets their money from other people like you and me… the taxpayers… foot the bill to make it possible for her to engage in sex. Okay, that is FACT. We agree on that because it actually happened, it was captured on video and audio.

All Rush did was point this FACT out. “She is asking for other people to PAY, in order for her to engage in sexual activity.“ THEN Rush asked this question ”What do you call a woman who asks for other people to pay, (foot the bill, compensate, make financially possible) for her to have sex?”

He stated the fact which was televised and recoded, and then asked a question based upon facts presented. I fail to see how that is hateful. He didn’t say that he hated her. He didn’t say that she was a slut or a prostitute. He said that what she was doing, was presenting herself AS a slut or prostitute. He even explained this.

See you guys don’t listen. You hear only what you want to hear. You are not as enlightened as you think yourselves to be. If you were you wouldn’t be screaming “HATE SPEECH”, you would be saying “Though he has a clear point, I do not appreciate his choice of words”. THAT is a valid argument, not hate speech. But why win an argument i

  • Both of my Grandfathers served in WWII. One stormed Normandy, the other stormed Guadalcanal. They both had what would be classified as PTSD. Though they were better in their later years due to the passage of time, 40 and 50 years later you still never wanted to try and sneak up on them, or try to surprise them. You ESPECIALLY did not want to shake them awake from a nap.
