  Here is the problem with TSA! First they are under trained, underpaid, undereducated people. Second, they are giving a badge that is the same make as a Federal Officer. As having one of these badges once. I can tell you in our 20 week training program, three weeks were on constitutional law and peoples rights. TSA training….is not 20 weeks. Third, TSA officers are allowed to interpret the law…..its been awhile since CJ classes, but interpretation of the law is left up to the judicial system and not the officers in the field.

  He is a Hero because he stayed with her under that bus. Their were many things he could have done and yet he chose to craw under a bus even when Fire and Rescue were “chalking” the side of the bus to give them more room to work. Extrication of any sorts is very nerve racking, dangerous, and has the potential to go wrong at any minute. I think he deserves some acknowledgement for going the extra mile as the first officer on scene.

  I agree 100 percent….No Defensive Tactic Used, but I feel a fallen officer had a reason for his misjudgment in position! Back home we had two officers responding to a man’s house to let him know he was summonsed to court over a civil matter, the man had a sniper rifle and a shotgun. When the officers arrived he opened the door and shot one officer in the face and wounding the other. When we all rushed in thinking he left the scene….he was up on a ridge taking pop shots…..in the line of duty sometime we have to unfortunately learn from fatal errors…..As far as this fallen officer nothing could been done different! I pray for her family Tonight!!

  This goes out to Dirty Harry and all you others who have posted negative comments: I have a father of 30 years as a firefighter and a brother with 10 years. A brother-in-law as a police officer, several friends and family in law enforcement. Myself with law enforcement training and 10 years as a medic. All I can say to you all who posted negative about this….SHAME ON YOU! This is a tragic event and all you can do is blame a cop….HOW DARE YOU! I have been shot at trying to save a cop’s life as a medic (after we thought the scene was clear) I have been to many funerals to morn the loss of my brothers and sisters in emergency services. We all should be praying for her family, praying for her law enforcement family, praying for all those who have responded, and praying for the family of the man who was shot! We put our lives on the line every day, we are proud of uniform no matter if it is FIRE, POLICE, OR EMS. Please look in the mirror after you write comments like that, and ask to yourself are you really human or just some suck who full of hot air!
