  We had a young man in Utah interned and it was rumoured that the Wesboro Baptist were going to show. There were thousands that showed up to ‘protect’ our fallen hero from the idiots too. We had about 1000 Patriot Guard motorcycle riders show as a special guard unit that were just dying to have the protestors even make a peep.

  I would worry about leftist violence, but being x-military and having a daughter in law enforcement, the military and law enforcement both are stanchly concervative bodies. They ain‘t gonna let no stinkin’ leftist commie marxist bastarchs take over the country no matter how bad it gets. So sleep easy.

  The budget:
  21% Social Security
  17% Defense
  14% Medicare
  12% Unemployment/Welfare/Medicaid
  9% Interest on the Debt
  8% Medicaid (More Welfare)
  5% Global War on Terror (More Defense)
  3% Health and Human Services
  2% Department of Education
  2% Other on budget Discretionary Spending
  2% Veterans Affairs
  The rest (other Department).

  Eliminate Health and Human Services? No, not all of it, I like having the FDA, the CDC and a few other things that keep my food safe and disease from running amok. Could it be cut back and combined with something else, sure.

  Education department -> turf it back to the states where it belongs.

  Housing and Urban Development -> yup, back to the states.

  EPA? nope, don’t agree. Federal thing. States haven’t proven to be too aweful effective in keeping corporations in check and the corporations only care about making money not keeping the enviroment sound. Checks and balances – need them.

  Unfortunately, for the really juicy meat, we have to make cuts in the big kahunas. The entitlement programs. Demoncrats have been cutting the hell out of the military already so other than pulling out of the Afghanistan vipers nest, there isn’t any savings there. So it’s Social Security, Medicare, Turf Medicaid to the States where it belongs, and the same thing with Unemployment and Welfare – back to the States where they belongs. If a State wants those things they can maintain a tax base to have them, if not, not. Without such an onerous federal tax burdon, it would be easier for a state to do things.

  My wife and I are two members they lost. I finally opened one of the rags they send around to members during the health care debates and it was nothing but republican bashing. I promptly fired off an email telling them that was the last time they would see us as members and I was good to my word.
