  • Because of Obama, these socialist kids can’t even use their own legs to jump any more and need someone to lift their lazy bodies just so they can make a catch. We’re doomed

  • Oh dear Billy, I know you like to have your little fantasy image of democrats feeding babies through a shredder with a maniacal laugh and that is why this discussion will never evolve into a common sense debate.

Why do you hate women so much Billy?

  • Who cares about 20 000 stupid poor people JZS, as long as they don’t have access to an abortion they can die for all we care. Hang on…..crazy times

  • Kay…I’m sorry but did you only read the last 2 lines of my post? I have already stated that I have no problem if the cross stays, I also agree that the cross is the time honoured symbol of the fallen (not just soldiers but all who have passed). I have said quite clearly that I do not support the group wishing it to be taken away.

One of your original questions stated : Are atheists so “-a-feared” that the brilliance of their postition can’t stand up to any competing ideas? My reference to buddha was to see if you would be comfortable with an opposing symbol, something that you didn’t believe in, being placed in the park. After all, we are a nation of many nationalities and religions and the US defence force is not made up 100% of christians. Tolerance is not a one way street.

I am only talking about the monument as stated in the story, I never made reference to any cross grave markers, stars of david or anything else that you alluded to. I would personally lay a wreath on your cross marker in rememberance if that was your desire. I am not and have never been offended by any symbol religious or otherwise. Contrary to the opinion of the majority here, being a non believer does not automatically make you a thoughtless a-hole.

  • You bring the statue and I’ll bring the gloves.

  • This non-believer says keep your cross, doesn’t offend me in the slightest, keep your nativity scenes, couldn’t care less about them.
The problem is that these atheist organisations are no better than a catholic organisation or a mormon organisation or a muslim organisation in that they are trying to impose their beliefs onto others. They do not represent me as I am sure many christians do not want to be represented by the catholic church.
If someone needs a cross to look at in order to be happy then so be it, I would rather see happy people than fight over two perpendicular sticks.
So my answer to you would be no but then I’m not the one threatening to maybe think about filing a lawsuit.

Now for arguments sake, I’m planning to put a monument to Buddha in the same park, I assume you would have no problem with that.
