  • I first saw this interview as it was attached by one of my facebook friends, and you can’t imagine the glee with which this interview was accepted. Firstly, Peter Berg was not rambling- he put a seemingly complicated situation in the most concise and clear way- there are only two options here- bomb now or be bombed with a nuclear device. That’s it. For some reason our top “security” people as the former Mosad and Shin-Bet directors don’t seem to get this. Secondly, this “interviewer” is a resident of what we in Israel call “the state of Tel-Aviv”; people who deem themselves above and separated from the rest of the country. You see his a citizen of the world (notice he gave the name “Holt” instead of “Danino” that is a Jewish Moroccan name.) Many of them don’t serve in the army ’cause they don’t see themselves part of this conflict. Let someone from the periphery die for them! I regard his type of people as the dregs of our society and I’m glad someone shone a light on him and his ilk! I like Peter Berg!

  • JROOK- Well if you read the piece a bit more closely instead of trying to be clever, you’d see that that issue was in fact addressed. Here, I’ll help you:”How did it begin? Some news organizations are reporting the present round of fighting began when Israeli forces killed a terrorist leader in Gaza. But that’s not exactly how it began. It really began when Israeli intelligence obtained information that a terrorist cell was planning a major attack on Israelis via Egypt in the coming days, as occurred last August, when eight Israelis were killed…” Does that answer your question? You can always accuse Sharona of being biased, especially when you don’t have to back up your claims. Her reporting is exactly right. But I might be biased too…

  • Br@dley, to be exact, what Meir Dagan said was that Ahmadinajad is rational but “Not exactly our rationale”, which is a completely idiotic thing to say- it’s the same as saying that a mad man is rational! I‘m sure that when someone thinks he’s a dog, barking and chasing ambulances seems rational. And I’m sure that if you believe in the Mahdi, sponsoring Terror and massacring a nation seems rational. So what’s his point? With all due respect to Dagan, for a while now he has been behaving irresponsibly by abusing the trust the public has in him to promote his own political agenda (I‘m sure for him he’s being rational…). I‘m ashamed of the way he’s behaving and many others in Israel have expressed the same about hi,. A few more points-
As I live in Israel and have had the experience just today of running out of my car in the middle of the road and crouching above my 5 year old niece trying to shield her, while blasts are heard above, I know that Glenn doesn’t lie. I know!
Secondly- Comparing Iran to Nazi Germany is more than appropriate, you ignorant man! Just the name Iran should tell you something. Educate yourself!
As for Restoring Courage, there was a group that picketed outside the event consisting of no more then 20(!) people. The majority of us were and still are grateful to Glenn and all that he has done for Israel. What have done for Israel and the truth lately?! Shame on you for maligning good man…

  • Yes, yes, Israel is the devil…The only response I can give to that is this-

  • Lets just make this clear- according to some sources, most of the number are way out there. I saw a more conservative number of 150,000 people. But even for 400,000, that’s a 600,000 short of a “1 million march”. If you’ll ask most of the people there- they don’t even know what they are protesting. The media is fighting like hell to keep the radical leftists leading this ridiculous thing under wraps, and well, it’s working, but we on the right are putting on a fight here. Bottom line is- the media is hoping to use this for a revival of the endangered left, but since most people in Israel vote with security on their minds- A fat chance in hell this is going to happen!

  • Just for your information- this protest indeed started by a leftist organization called “The national left”, backed by the “New Israel fund”, an American fund backed by– you guessed it— George Soros! Their expressed intention was and still is to topple the government and they are greatly aided by the leftist media in Israel. At the beginning the support to it wasn’t that big until the last few days, during which, guess who joined them? You guessed right- the unions! I will admit that the living expenses in Israel are very high, but that is a result of a combination of monopols, outside investments, and governmental inaction. The irony is that prime minister Netanyahu is the only leader in years that has been trying to find a solution to this situation, even before the protests started. Many of the people I talk to have their eyes opened concerning this protest (and those who don’t, I make sure to open their eyes for them), so I really doubt the left will succeed in toppling the government. On the other hand it seems like they are, inadvertently, starting to force the market here to be even more open (up till now dairy products could not be imported to Israel, something which is about to change and the market will be opened for competition). I‘m not sure but I don’t think that these protesters thought this through…
